    max3 prox reader location

Yes, sounds fine. You do need to hold the tag for a few seconds to set though. It's not just a quick swipe past. Everyone in my house have always set when leaving or heading to bed. They get nagged at if they ever forget it. I get set/unset SMS via IP based self monitoring too.

    max3 prox reader location

The Galaxy MAX is weatherproof and can be located externally. It really depends on the location and how vulnerable the reader would be to vandalism. The cover is tampered, but that still doesn't stop someone damaging the reader. The normal way to install is to have an entry delay on the...

    Galaxy Dialer

The Ethernet modules don't provide an HTTP virtual keypad interface directly, but there is software available to do this if you run a server 24x7. Small Linux computer like the Raspberry Pi can be used for this if you know how to configure one to run Java. There are a few different ways to...

    Galaxy Dialer

To expand slightly: The Galaxy onboard PSTN can still be used to connect with Honeywell's RSS software, although as digital exchanges become the norm, this analog traffic becomes less reliable. The PSTN can also connect with compatible alarm receiving centers. When the panel uses the PSTN...

Non monitored Galaxy 2-12 house alarm

The default settings on the Galaxy are set to monitor the phone line voltage. Any disconnect of the line will result in a fault. This would then require the engineer code to resolve.

Can you convert monitored to unmonitored alarm?

Can you convert monitored to unmonitored alarm?

Get a Galaxy G2-12 panel - about £30 delivered from Ebay. Add a keyprox keypad for about the same price. Then the normal standard additions of external sounder, battery, sensors, internal speaker... If you want to self monitor there are cheap IP options for the Galaxy G2 series which offer...

Non monitored Galaxy 2-12 house alarm

Hi, this can be done, but requires a level of technical capability. Defaulting methods are unlikely to be posted in open forum.

    Powerful strobe wanted

It's gonna look like a rave :) Here's one of the EL series available in various colours. Up in the £70 range, but all depends on your application. If inside a window lighting up the outside is possible, then a low cost disco strobe light is probably the cheapest option...

    Powerful strobe wanted

Probably needs a waterproof housing... Delta make loads, but you need to select a high powered one and find a reseller: http://www.deltadesign.co.uk/products/productseriesresults.aspx?catId=354&menuId=1 Usual expensive RS experience: http://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/beacons/4055111/

    Powerful strobe wanted

You're looking for a xenon beacon and not really low power alarm strobe. It's really the bulb size and flash rate that determines the power consumption. The alarm type are usually a small xenon tube compared with that of beacons used on things like emergency vehicles.

    Alarm upgrade

If you want to go the Galaxy route, go for a Dimension and avoid the Flex. Go the IP route for signaling. The Flex panels still have firmware issues when connecting to IP. PM me if you want to discuss. I cannot advise on the Castle route though.

    ADT Wireless alarm

For their £99 intro package it's the Honeywell 'Le Sucre' panel which is wireless only and GSM connectivity. http://www.security.honeywell.com/uk/documents/HSC-Sucre-01-EN%280112%29DS-E.PDF The higher level domestic packages use the Honeywell Galaxy G2 (G2-12, G2-20, G2-44) range of...

    Texecom Premier + GSM Module

Although the GSM SMS solution may be perceived as more secure than a vulnerable land-line, it's still not that secure. You really need a polled / heartbeat service to ensure that the path hasn't been compromised. Thing is, if someone is going to go to the lengths of jamming signals or cutting...

    Texecom Premier + GSM Module

Wrong. No contract. Just pay as you go £1 a month. That includes 20 free SMS too. Then it's only 5p per SMS. So our opening and closing where we have 60+ events per month is still viable. Don't get me wrong, TAP has its place for old antiquated systems, but not for new tech. It's too open...

    Texecom Premier + GSM Module

Galaxy IP based costs less than £50 for the Ethernet module and only £1 a month without the worry that failed calls could be racking up £'s on your phone bill without you knowing it. Heard that opentelecom TAP has issues with the Galaxy panels too. Are Honeywell publishing the 50p a message...

    Honeywell Galaxy G2, configuring users

    1. You can use the master user code with your own pin. Leave other users as L2 (default). 2. They are not active by default. They are only active if a pin or fob or both pin and fob are assigned. 3. The default '1234' pin is assigned against the master user which is user number 23. You...

    Help needed, curious alarm problem

Daft ? I don't think so. As we haven't seen the actual log, then I'm merely trying to ascertain the facts. Having worked on the internals of the Galaxy, I understand the architecture and underlying mechanisms.
