I did notice that all the MCB's and the RCD are switched off.. It just looked a bit odd..

I was wondering about the split but of course with each circuit being on an RCBO there would be no split at all. Each RCBO doing its own thing ! Apparently all the cicuits in the house are accounted for ( labels ). Maybe as you suggest there has been alterations done since the CU was installed.

Just visiting a mates house today and noticed his CU ( sad I know). There are RCBO's installed and the unused ways have MCB's installed but switched "off". should there be blanks installed or is this OK? This is rented accomodation.

Blimey what a mess... Whoever did that should have paid the customer, not the other way round !!! I wonder why there appears to be two expansion vessels. The guy obviously has not heard of a pipe bender either.

I need to have some wood filler that will match up to old pine panelling. I have had a good look around but cant find anything near to the colour. Is there a product to add colour to wood filler that will allow me to match the filler to the wood colour ??

[/url] a "standard" offset dish ( not those silly "sky" dishes) when wiewed from the satellite position appear to be exactly circular. Thats why they are that shape, Its the shape of a section of a full parabolic dish with the LNB poitioned so that it would be in the centre of the full dish...

Its a standard series regulator typical circuit for a rig accessory of that age. It will get a bit warm when the rig is on transmit as there is a 3 volt drop ( at the transmit current ) so a watt or so will need to be dissapated. I do have a callsign but am not very active these days.

I detest the rip off merchants calling it "Calibration" Its merely an accuracy check. Calibration would imply some sort of adjustment ???

I used my old praktika 35mm film camera body and a zoom lens to make a cctv camera by fitting a small cctv camera circuit board in place of the film just behind the " removed" shutter ( after first removing the small cctv lens ) works very well too. Image quality is first class.

AGREED.. However that dont stop some folk from advertising such things. I rang a local firm for a quote for a digital arial and was advised to get a "special" digital amplifier as well. What a load of old tosh.

Why should a building regulation have anything to to with what a person plugs into his/her domestic supply? That would mean that a fridge, or a washing machine, or a TV etc. would all have to comply with said building regulation. Thats just not true. I have in the past built many items that...
