    Which type of shower?

http://www.new-team-showers.co.uk/Newteam-NT-1000-XT-Power-Shower.html If its a rented house if you are buying then you do not want too spend that much and if your landlord is contributing then he wont spend that much (not that landlords are tight), I would get a plumber in to give you a quote...

    boosting my pressure

Wow ! I think that system is slightly over designed. Why use pressure reducing valves where flow restrictor's will do ? Do you intend to ditch the Cold water storage as 2bar mains is not ideal? You had better store a lot of water unless your shower is fairly flow restrictive. When...

    thermostatic mixer valves in scotland

They are getting more and more common for lots of uses where they were always used in specialized situations like care homes hospitals hotels ect. I speak to customers that have solar panels or solid fuel boilers, and have to use them, the valves that are specific ie for baths I agree the...

    basin taps reccomendation

Swirl are not a manufacturer as far as I know they are screw fix own brand which is B&Q, there are plenty of good quality brands out there that will work well on your system as you have high pressure and they are no more expensive. When screwfix stop doing these taps you will not get parts...

installing a shower pump in flat question

The Turbo 1 will be fine, yes the pressure will be 1.0 bar as a static pressure. you could use a pressure equalizing valve these will take the highest pressure and reduce to the lower pressure, but if you have access to the pipe work then you can suck and see approach slight imbalances normally...

    Help my shower too hot!!

It sounds like you have a Thermostat gone somewhere if you have a gas boiler it could be the cylinder stat and if you are heating your water up by electric then check the emmersion stat, I would not have thought that it is related just coincidence.

Stuart Turner are good pumps with there brass ended products there motors are great they have been going for a very long time in fact they used to make motor bikes in the early 1900's, Plumbers love them (there brass ended ones) as they are simple to fit and last even when they are installed...

installing a shower pump in flat question

we use two types of pumps a, Regenerative and b, centrifugal that is the discription of the type of impellor, regenerative is like a watermill it takes its water in one side of the impellor and throws it out the other side they tend to be less fussy about the install critiria and are much...

installing a shower pump in flat question

All pump manufacturers would want the pump within 3 meters of the hot water cylinder, if you really want a pump then look at the pipe sizing if the supply pipe is 28mm going to the flats above and below then if you use a small brass ended pump you should not have too much effect on your neibours...

Q about shower heads with water stop functions

The Shower head you have is designed for high pressure systems normally over 1.0bar pressure, which an electric shower has but I still would not recommend one on an electric shower. unpressurised is basically a low pressure gravity fed system, where you will have a cold water storage tank in...

installing a shower pump in flat question

You would need to supply with the pump fitted next to the cylinder (clorifier) pumping to the shower (as pretty much all pumps are designed to push water not drag it) an independant pipe to not effect your neibours. It sounds like there would be a secondary return on the system (a small...

Q about shower heads with water stop functions

Hi Stu, I assume that by saying water stop handset you mean Douche handset. does not really matter any way, I would seriously not recomend doing this with an electric shower. Most electric showers run on after turning off as a saftey percaution to empty out the heater as they tend too...

    Noisy shower&basin pump

I am supprised at the engineer not pointing out that the pump was a shower pump and it was not designed to pump to either hot or cold pipes individually, With shower pumps they are designed to have both the hot and the cold side of the pump running at the same time. 15mm pumps like the one...

Shower pump stops and starts when not asked for water

I would just on the hot first as that is the normal suspect, it will not hurt to fit both but i do not think it is the cold as you have a loft installation.
