So many company's are now importing these taps now to maximize profits. Most major UK brands are import taps so really the only benefit of buying a UK brand is the guarantee and spares.

There are lots of good import taps around that are cheap but its getting the spares in four years time that is the issue I just googgled Lamona and it is not coming up with a UK based manufacturers web site.

Remove the non return valves from back of the valve, then try it. if that solves the issue try putting in inline nrv's that need less pressure to open them you can fit these any where between the pump and the shower valve.

If that is a two handled mixer I have not seen one with a plastic valve for a long time, they are normally plastic on single lever mixers with a square spline, you have got to either replace the tap, or know the manufacturer to get a spare cold valve now that you have broken the spline.

You might be getting air in the pump on the hot side of the pump which will lower the pressure if its a centrifugal pump, making it hard for the valve to mix with the cold side as this side will have a higher pressure. The inlet valve on your WC might need a new washer they can distort or...
