Pump is in the boiler

Had similar problem with a recent install called glowy out as under warrenty turned out to be pcb and interface pcb fault no probs reported by customer since.

Would suspect dhw zone valve sticking and c/h zone valve partially letting bye heating nearest rad imho

Possible zone valve sticking on .

Boiler make and model please, crystal ball not working at the moment.

Sounds like the diaphram in the dhw flow has a split in it 5 minute job to check 15 minutes to replace . Remove the micro switch open a tap if you can push the pin in easily diaphram is split.

F9 on some of the earlier boilers is a generic fault code not neccessarily a water sensor fault.Glow-worm have a plug in diagnostic fault finder which will reveal what the F9 relates to.

Check the fan for loose connection. on the main pcb check the orange plug is not in this will bring the boiler on check the wiring loom for trapped/crushed wires. On the option board the middle pin should be volt free if not then it is sending power to switched live

Sounds like the GW23C filling tap probably broken would not think dhw would be affected by this if heating working

The boiler is safe to use as it has a minimum and maximum gas rate and is room sealed the performance of the boiler however could be comprimised and it is this that is the issue is not safety.I would expect the boiler to produce the correct kw at full rate ,if it does not then it has not been...

Had a few issues with the Ecotec range the main problems encountered are leaking/split rubber hoses on the flow and return pipes water sensor throwing up faults and leaking diverter valves.All were covered on warrenty and promptly sorted by Vaillant apart from that good boilers.

sounds like air in the pipes causing water movement look for a dead leg in the pipe work

Have read your post propely it could be the thermister is not connected correctly or faulty and is overheating during the preheat operation. And then dissipating heat to the central heating system to cool down.If it is turn off pre heat untill thermister changed

F14 is the code for flow temp above 95 degs usually means blocked heat exchanger.Check the dhw heat exch. as this normally blocks first.

prv is leaking probably the dhw one {blue one} f14 is plate heat exchanger blocked as correctly diagnosed earlier.Reccommend replacing both.

The redesigned flue adapter has a completely different spigot to accommodate the new seal if you have ever changed new for old you will have noticed this.It may well be possible to force the new seal onto an old adaptor with a lot of brute force but i would not reccommend it and i suppose...

The original flue adaptor is different from the new design the seal is not intended to fit so the complete adaptor needs to be changed.It is a design fault on the pre 03 models that is why glow worm replace them free of charge,this applies to the vaillant ecomax model as it has the same design flaw.
