Brushless Combi Drill or Brushed Twin Kit?

I find it's overkill. The impact driver doesn't have any reasonable sort of variable speed or torque settings. It's either all or nothing.

Brushless Combi Drill or Brushed Twin Kit?

I bought a brushless twin combi and impact driver kit. I can count the number of times I used the impact driver on one hand. It's not used often. I'd prefer a second combi drill so I can use one for drilling holes and the second for driving in screws.

    Bits for a Drill/Driver

    I like my Wera ones.

    Repairing ceiling cracks

Nothing. SWMBO has got me on other projects for now. I still have no idea how to tackle other than to maybe try force some filler through and paint over.

    Leaf vacuum cleaner

How large a garden is it? I bought the Bosch one ALS30 I think. Two separate nozzles for suck'n'blow. A pain in the proverbial to switch between the two, and it gets a bit tiresome after thirty minutes. If I had to buy again, I'd get one with wheels.

    mould

I used this method last year and it didn't work well. The mould went from black to brown. I bought Cillit Bang's version of the mould remover and it worked about 90%. Still have some stubborn areas but I'll leave this now until I remove and reapply the silicone.

    Removing fitted wardrobes

Turns out there's false panels inside for the "ceiling" and "base" of the wardrobe which are removable. L-shaped brackets secured the upright panels to the walls.

Can leaves set off security lights?

Ours is a "modern" one - only a year old and has two dials. One for daylight/night time cutoff, and one for duration. Sensor is adjusted by moving it up and down (or side to side).

    Removing fitted wardrobes

The previous owners had fitted wardrobes in the master bedroom. The missus now wants new ones. We've had quotes for fitting new fitted wardrobes but to remove the existing ones means extra charges (a day's work plus skip hire). To save money (as well as give us a chance to redecorate), we were...

Can leaves set off security lights?

I've had teatowels on the line trigger our PIR sensor. The teatowels were dry - the missus had forgotten to bring them in, so I ended up doing it.

    New Gate

When I bought fence panels, I looked at buying this but the cost for enough product to cover the fences were more than the cost of the fences so I didn’t bother.

    New Gate

I bought mine off ebay from seller gatefactory01 - really happy with it. It's been over a year so very early but still in excellent nick.

    Flipping an internal door

Definitely hollow core. It’s not a perfect job and I reckon a pro will have made it right first time. And that’s what I plan to do when I replace all the internal doors next year with solid wooden doors.

    Flipping an internal door

So it turns out it’s not that straightforward. The door isn’t square and looks to have been trimmed at some point by the previous owners. I took the door off. Had to dremel the slots for the screwdriver as the current ones weren’t deep. Decided to go for new hinges from B&Q. Same design but...

Corded leaf vacuums - worth it?

I bought a Bosch one for about £50. No wheels so you have to hold it. No bother. A bit fiddly to change from blower to vacuum (it's a two handed job) but it supposedly works more powerfully than models where you flip a switch. It has two power settings and has an impeller that mulches the...

    Flipping an internal door

Yes it will and I'll chase it into the correct place when I redecorate the bedroom later this year.

    Flipping an internal door

Current door opens to the right, which means walking into some fitted wardrobes. I'd like to flip the door so it opens to the left. A picture speaks a thousand words: I think I need to: chisel out two mortises for door and for frame (for the hinges) flip door around and attach to left door...

    Glueing on vinyl and veneer

I'm struggling to find a match for the door (I did post a thread up on here to see if anyone recognised it) and I don't want to have to replace dozens of doors for one where the vinyl's lifted off. The kitchen will be re-done within the next five years (long term plan). Would contact adhesive...

    Glueing on vinyl and veneer

Two problems: 1. Dining room chair - veneer is starting to peel off the front seat rail from the lower edge. 2. One of the cupboards in the utility room has vinyl covering starting to peel away (it’s half peeled off) and I’ve only noticed today. The room has a condensing tumble dryer. I was...

Carpet Knee Kicker - is this any good?

Send it back. I used this one from screwfix: https://www.screwfix.com/p/knee-kicker/19665 Worked fine when I needed to replace wooden floorboards in the upstairs landing. Quite fun to use and even the missus found it easy.
