    Vaillant VCW GB 242 E

I expect you have checked the programmer and room thermostat are calling for heat, if so the diverter valve is what you need to check to make sure it is changing from hot water to heating.

    Gas pipe size

You could always run a new gas supply pipe from the meter to the boiler Leaving your existing supply to feed your other appliances this way you will be able to use 22mm pipe to within 1 metre of boiler.

    Which Boiler??

Yes but must admit haven't used it, as i've found it just as easy to set with buttons. I don't have the need for LPG in my situation but that is another good point with this range of boilers no parts to change except for one boiler in the range all done in software.

    Which Boiler??

Hi gremlin16 thanks for your reply to me, i've only installed the 28c model but although i would change a couple of things to this model ie the position of the condense outlet and the length of purpose bent pipes they supply which are too short for clip spacing (Broag say this is due to them...

    Which Boiler??

I'm nothing to do with BB so please keep your insults to yourself, when i went on the Broag course i was led to believe that most of their range of domestic boilers use the same parts, indeed the hospital kit which they supplied to us (is very good ) is designed to allow us to fix their boiler...

    Which Boiler??

BB did you know that no parts are inter changeable on any of their domestic boiler range. Makes it difficult for independant service engineer to provide 1st visit fix. If you are talking about the Broag Remeha Avanta Plus range i think you'll find most parts are interchangeable.

Glowworm Ultracom 18sxi 0.4 bar fault

Ultracom does have built in filling loop, look under boiler and you will see two taps one on left and one on right through holes in plastic cover, if you turn both of these 90 degrees your system pressure will rise.

    Potterton Netaheat 16/22 Mk2F 905371 Gas Valve

Hi the Mk2F gas valve is still available it's the Electronic model which is now unobtainable although that is a slightly newer model. On the end of the Mk2F gas valve is a mercury vapour switch which could be your problem it unplugs from the gas valve and is sold seperately.

Gloworm 30Cxi combi: Reduced pressure zone valve

Common fault with this make of boiler, the built in filling loop seems to leak while you are refilling but will stop when you turn it off.

    hot water circuit

With the cylinder in the basement your secondary return should work without a pump, try turning it off and see. I would advise you to insulate your pipework.
