    no central heating

Yes i would, if it's a plastic valve actuator held on by two screws they are prone to sticking when not used for any length of time.

    no central heating

Most systems have motorised valves 2 port or 3 port to stop the flow to either hot water or heating, they have micro switches which turn on the boiler via roomstat or cylinderstat. look for square shaped box or boxes on pipes could be plastic or metal.

    Hot cylinder vent pipe

I agree with last post, forget the idea of leaving vent above redundant tank. Also make sure you comply with regs buy Byelaw 30 kit as well as new tank, make sure when using tank to feed both hot and cold that the outlets at the bottom of tank aren't at the same height. ie make sure the...

    Toilet seat doesn't stay up!

If you have a low level cistern and pan, not a close coupled one the pan is probably set to far back not allowing seat to stay up, or sometimes some seat furniture/hinges can be fitted the wrong way around which gives this problem.

    Hot cylinder vent pipe

Hi reading your thread there is no reason why you can't run your vent horizontally across to new tank position, as long as it has a rise towards the new tank, is well clipped to prevent it from sagging, is insulated to prevent freezing. When you read in books etc about vent pipes to rise...

RWB9 Connection issues to Potterton Suprima HE

Would really need to know what controls you have, as you are only saying which boiler you have. For instance if you have a 3 port zone valve to control heating and hot water, you would be using hot water on and hot water off terminals 1 & 3 but only heating on terminal.

    Long waste pipe from sink

Sounds like what your describing as a hopper is a gully outside. Where you say the pipe is going straight into the floor this would be the pipe i'm refering to as a back or side inlet to the gully. Providing the new waste pipe discharges above the water seal in the gully and below the grid you...

    Long waste pipe from sink

You don't say what type of foul water drain it will go into, will it be into a back or side inlet gully below grid and above water level or soil pipe from toilet. It should be allowed in 50mm pipe at that length but it would be best to check with BC for your area.
