Terrain deepflow is it worth it over other systems

An update and just for information for anybody else thinking of using deepflow guttering. I costed the Terrain against standard Deepflow for what I needed and the difference was not as large as I had expected - so I bought the Terrain Rapidflow. I fitted it last weekend - which seemed...

How to seal round a pipe through pitched roof

Thanks, I did think about that, but how do you contain it within the roof so it doesn't expand onto the tiles and look scruffy and naff from the outside? Access inside the loft space is easy, but not really practical from the outside without scaffolding.

How to seal round a pipe through pitched roof

We have a 40mm basin waste pipe which exits the loft through the pitch roof tiles. It has flashing over the top, but there is a pretty large gap below the pipe. It seems watertight, but there is plenty of air getting in. Been like it since we bough the house, but with the cold weather coming I...

Terrain deepflow is it worth it over other systems

I have no doubt I need to increase the capacity of that stretch of gutter. And I know any deepflow will be more expensive than half crescent - but worth it in the long run. The issue is whether I go for standard 115 wide x 77mm deep, deepflow or Terrain rapidflow at 131mm wide x 82 deep...

Terrain deepflow is it worth it over other systems

The house has been knocked about in year previous to our ownership and guttering arranged to empty onto other parts of the roof and finally to on one major run of guttering. All in all it takes alot of water and had been barely coping with occasional overflows in heavy rain. Since fixing some of...

    Any-one got a marvellous MX5 ?

As long as you love it that's all that matters mate. Hope the sun shines and you enjoythe moors. Me I'll be stuck in a carp tin top hire car travelling to the west county on business. :(

    Any-one got a marvellous MX5 ?

As I said before YOUR opinion is not mine - or for that matter the masses. Drop dead gorgeous either car No, but for me the MG is pretty and classic where as the MX5 is at best plain Jane. But as we have both said subjective so let it lie. No I didn't. I said if you want to cruise the MX5 will...

    Any-one got a marvellous MX5 ?

Yes looks ar subjective and the MG has won design awards around the globe, where as the Mazda has not. The plastic boat comment was not invented by me but is a fairly standard remark about the MX5 styling, so I would humbly suggest that you are in the minority. I have driven a lot of MX5s and...

    Any-one got a marvellous MX5 ?

Yottie, unlike Nikso who seems to be quite happy to agree the two cars are similar in capabilities but that still the MG is ****, but the MX5 brilliant, I am not that unbalanced. The MX5 is a good car - just not for me. The early MX5s were IMHO ugly and performance was pedestrian. The latter...

    MGF Update.

No problem. The Lotus suffered less from the HGF issue than the MG due to the location of the engine and different cooling system route. The Lotus also being that much more expensive and targeted more at spirited road/track car tends not to get used as a daily drive and is generally better...

    Any-one got a marvellous MX5 ?

Well you are entiteled to your opinion - even if you seem to have mixed emotion with facts. Compare the 0-60 times, handling etc of the MG and MX5 and you'll see that like for like the MG beats or is equal to the MX5. It also has the advantage of not looking like a plastic boat left too close...

    Any-one got a marvellous MX5 ?

Well can't agree with that. The MGF and MGTF outsold the MX5 every year they were in production. The MX5 is OK, but not a shade on a Lotus or MG. Accept the perception of reliabilty, but it's not as clear cut as Clarkson makes out. Could also point out Lotus are doing very nicely thank you...

    The MG TF

From your other thread you obviously know it's an MGF not a TF if it's on a real "V" plate. The MG TF replaced the MGF in 2002.

    The MG TF

Pete's site is a mine of information as are dieters http://www.mgfcar.de/index.htm and Rob Bells http://www.mgf.ultimatemg.com/

    MGF Update.

K series are pretty rugged if treated right. The problem really starts when the low water volume in the engine drops and the alloy head overheats. If it goes soft then mostly it's scrap, but if not too far then peening the firing rings, ensuring the liners are set at the right height and an MLS...

Water Co's to be responsible for (sewer)pipes beneath houses

I had a further look and found some more information on one of the utilities websites plus a nice diagram of the sewer expected ownership/responsibility So in reality for properties where there is one foul drain to the sewer per house nothing really changes (except perhaps it falls in...

Water Co's to be responsible for (sewer)pipes beneath houses

Having read a couple of those reports, it's not entirely clear what that means for the householder in the following circumstances a) Blocked drain - do they call aaadrains-dyno-rods-r-us or the water company to get them cleared - and who pays for it? b) housholders who have concerns the...

Redring Instantaneous Water Heaters and Showers

Oh and worth remembering that you will need a dedicated MCB or RCBO with a direct run from the consumer unit to the shower in 16 mm2 cable if you go the powerstream route

Redring Instantaneous Water Heaters and Showers

Our loft conversion has a Redring powerstream 9.5KW which runs the basin and the shower. To get a reasonable shower it is linked to the specifically designed Redring Shower Mixer Kit part no 85793620. It's not the prettiest shower but because it is designed to work with the powerstream you...

    Cables, insulation and separation

This was pretty much what I had found which is why I wondered if the idea might fly. I did consider using the gutter as a tunnel, but rethought it because heat rises and having an open top seemed to offer a better heat dissapation route. But as I always said, unless I can confirm it's compliant...
