    Help - Induction hob confusion

We have recently had a large (900mm) induction hob fitted over built under ovens. The hob installation states that this type of installation requires a minimum thickness of worktop and a minimum gap between the bottom of the hob and the top of the oven. Our ovens are single and positioned side...

    T&E cable sheathing profile

I was replacing a light switch in the loft which had got broken when getting the xmas decs down, and noticed the T+E cable sheath was unusual. It's 1.5mm2 T+E and one side is flat but the other side looks a bit like figure 8 profile. It had been clipped withthe flat side out so I had never...

    Bathroom bonding with enclosed pipes

Spark123's reply was before I edited, and I am not sure I understand why removing the bonding from just the three pipes is an issue. Once they are enclosed they will be in a permanent feature and therefore in the same state as a pipe passing behind a partition wall. The bathroom user can not...

    Bathroom bonding with enclosed pipes

I have a shower room with the following supp bonding I now intend boxing in the header tank pipes to tidy up the room. They will be fully enclosed and inaccessible from within the bathroom without use of tools (probably a crowbar, hammer and screwdriver). Therefore, do I still need the 3...

CU change and 17th edition regs

That was an interesting diversion, but can anybody answer my original question? Assuming the cabling fulfils teh electrical tests, will the physical protection require changing due to 17th ed when transferring circuits from an old CU to free slots in a modern CU already in situ?

CU change and 17th edition regs

That would be my understanding, but as I am not a qualified electrician, I was hoping someone could confirm it. At the end of the day, I want the job done properly, but if moving the circuits requires a significant re-wire due to 17th ed physical protection changes, then it wont happen as we...

CU change and 17th edition regs

Bonding is fine and I planned the new CU with 17th ed in mind. New CU was populated with RCBOs for circuits installed last year, and will have RCBOs for all circuits transferred which require RCD protection. My concern is not that the circuits themselves will not test out ok (never certain...

CU change and 17th edition regs

As some may remember I got some great help here last year when sorting out our kitchen and new CU. Well just about ready for teh next part and looking for some more advice. We had/have multiple CUs, and when we had teh kitchen fitted we replaced one old one with a large new one with...

    C.U. Conversion and 17th ed

So for the lighting circuits if I have RCBOs rather than MCBs, then (assuming the rest of the circuit tests out correctly) they will be compliant?

    C.U. Conversion and 17th ed

This may be a silly question, but please bear with me. As some will remember I had numerous CUs and with advice have had one replaced with a 19 way populated with RCBOs where appropriate. The intention was that it meant I can get the other CUs moved into the new 19way one by one reducing the...

    Broken energy saving bulb

I wasnsuggesting that we should follow the Madame Curie school of experimentation or return to the days of the school yob pouring acid over the text books, but the H&S nanny has all but eradicated science as a subject in schools today. Where are our innovatotrs, scientists and engineers going to...

    Broken energy saving bulb

i wonder how much energy is saved after each person has made a special trip to dump/shop in the car for one low energy bulb. Since they are dangerous, you wont be saving the old ones up top make the trrip economic now will you? And since most of the public will have bought them from that awful...

    Radiator manufacturer

Thanks for the replies. I called stelrad and they do do the grills and ends for the P+, but wont sell direct and suggested I went to PTS, Jewson or Grahams who can order them for me. Found one web site which sells them http://www.mytub.co.uk/product_information.php?product=114303...

kirkgas I did look at steelrad website and thought mine is an elite, but was just concerned that other manufacturers may use similar structure and didn't want to waste nearly £60 on top and side grills whcih don't fit. Hence the question to you guys.

I'm guessing by the lack of replies it's not a simple look in the top/bottom/left/right hand corner for marking xyz then? Will a picture help?
