    Saniflo with Hep2o / Hep20 Discharge Pipe

I also think any of the pushfit type connections would be a bad idea as they do have a tendency to creep - particularly in pipes that go through cycles of pressure/no pressure - as would be happening with your proposed system. If you can, go for one length of pipe with appropriately routed...

Hotpoint Aquarius 1100 Banging (Very Loud!!!)

It would be worth checking that the bolts hold the counterweights (big lump of concrete!) are tight - it's not unknown for them to come loose - at low speed it doesn't vibrate much but at high speed...... I've seen a few of the recent Merloni Hotpoints with this problem..... luckily the bolts...

    Sockets In Garden

Surely this solution isn't that different to those "Armadillo" outdoor sets that claim to be compliant with regs etc? Apart from terminating the SWA obviously - I think some sort of box might make it easier! Although the cable itself might be "fixed" the circuit isn't as it's plugged in and...

    self install air con units

IP24 should be Ok - unless you intend to submerse your aircon unit in water! From memory it's protected against spray from all directions. As far as Part P goes - I can see where you're coming from, but do they sell bricks, lintels, doors etc with a warning that work should conform to...

Replace consumer unit - unidentified Radial Circuit

Could also be a direct feed for an alrm transformer, bell transformer etc - I found one of these on my old board - I think "Wiggy" put it in!! The other alternative is that it is actually the other end of the lighting RING - it could be you haven't got RADIALS? Though if you've disconnected...

    How to hang off cladding?

Surely the cladding is fixed to battens somewhere? I think you'll find that it will be easier, and make less mess, if you screw the conduit on. And if the cables are electrical cables, better safe than sorry. There's probably something in the wiring regulations about mechanical fixings and...

    Cable rating & route

He did say it was a double oven - so 5kW is not that big! Is it just me or do these ovens seem to be getting bigger and having a bigger draw now. They used to be one and a half ovens really , but now they seem to be turning into "real " double ovens?!

    Rainwater Ingress

I think you may have misunderstood - I think he's saying the french doors are between the house and the extension - so water is probably penetrating the brickwork somewhere and running down the walls. A cavity tray is the "proper" solution - but you could try waterproofing the brickwork above...

I think Wickes do it - not sure how black it actually gets though - probably more grey really? Guess other suppliers would be available!

    Garden Tap Problem!

Well, as your missus managed apply enough force to jam it open, suggest you get her (or ask her very nicely?!) to unjam it herself! Alternatively, try using a lever - eg a bit of pipe- over the tap handle to give a bit more purchase. A liberal dose of WD40 etc down the spindle may also help.

    Outside Electrics

Suggest you give a few more details - how much power do you want? How far away is the shed? How often would you want to use the power? I've used an "Armadillo" type set up - armoured cable terminated into junction boxes. One end has a 13A plug (RCD protected)and lead wired in - this then plugs...

Need advice on washer dryer or washing machine Which one sha

I'd have to agree with all those points - except get a HP! - They've been taken over by Indes*it so quality would be even worse than it used to be! Steer clear of Washer Dryers - they are the most unreliable appliance you can get and they don't work properly - they also increase your water...

    Cold Feed or Hot&Cold Feed

I think I'm right in saying that most machines on the continent are cold fill only and that machines are "modified" for the British market - I believe it's to do with many continentals having mains pressure hot water/not having hot water cylinders?

light switch wiring question from newbie

Why? He's only REPLACED the fitting - not added to the circuit. My understanding , from the various "approved" bodies checklists was that that didn't count, even if it was in a "special location" ?

Bosch WFF 2000 Fabric softener not going in

It's a;ways worth checking the siphon actually works - if it's clogged it wont let the conditioner wash out. If the siphon does work, then see above!

    Bosch Dishwasher salt problem

Make sure you've actually got the machine set up to need a regen - if regen control is set to soft water then it won't regen .

    where's the rinse cycle?

There is no cold rinse - the rinse is hot so that the residual heat can then dry out the plates - the hotter it gets , the drier the plates. It also gets used on some machines (whirlpool) as an antibacterial treatment. Hope this helps!

Hot & Cold Fill machines Hot never draws water

The energy saving blurb is based on Energy Label testing, which to give a level playing field is actually tested with machines connected up with Y pieces so they only fill with cold water at 15°C. Also, you may find that it actually works out cheaper to use cold fill only - depending on the type...
