    Thanks for your help and advice - you were right - supply fuse is 60A - I'm hoping REC will uprate it when I have the isolator fitted in VNF. 60A (14.4 kW)seems a bit light nowadays ? It wouldn't take many appliances to push that surely? Thinks - WMC 2.5 kW, TD 2.5 kW, DW 2 kW,mwave 1.5...

    Get it checked - but if no faults are found it could also be static electricity. Given the right conditions it's possible to build up quite a charge which can lead one to think there's a problem with the electrics when its actually that nice new wool carpet and rubber soled shoes!

    Interesting stuff - is it me or electric cookers now seem to have a lot lower rating than they used too? I've just purchased one that has a max rating of 2.07kW - so the existing circuit with 32A breaker is a bit excessive! Having looked in the back of the cupboards theres a connection unit...
