How would I make this swedish ripoff?

Ah. Mine has to span 950mm, so the full depth gives greater strength/less bending. Only the front batten has to be exact, and the ply top & bottom.

    Storing timber

Thank you. But where/how do *you* store it ? I have some cardboard boxes in which I store short bits; an old dustbin in which I store (vertically) bits more than a cuppla feet long; and I have a cuppla bits of 4 x 2 four foot long hanging six feet apart from the garage roof by chains, on...

    Storing timber

Well, THAT's the problem ! It seems to be taking over the garage and the potting shed - oh, and the loft !

    Storing timber

I have lots of bits of wood - I can't bear to throw away offcuts ! - and I've also demolished some stud partitions, so I've got quite a lot of 4 x 2 8ft long that I just *know "will come in useful someday". But I also have offcuts down to 1"x1"x12" ! Are you like that, too ? How / where...

How would I make this swedish ripoff?

I think I have a similar "challenge", and I propose to make the 50mm from a sandwich of five longitudinal 40 x 20 battens between two sheets of 5mm ply, with stop-ends from the same batten stuff. Mine only needs to be painted.

    Pipe banging in stud wall

Is it "banging", or what is known as "water hammer"?

    Pipe banging in stud wall

You said, "We have been in our new house six months with no problems" - if you *mean* "new", get the builder back to sort it! Here's an option - Instead of opening up the wall to fix new clips, just drill a small hole or two as close as you can to the trouble (without puncturing the pipe!)...

    radiator replacing

He's not wrong ;-) Often a radiator looks OK, but the rust gets through eventually - and from the inside. I've just replaced three which were starting to go. In spite of inhibitor. If it's off, don't bother to put it back; get a new one.

This is not a duplicate posting. I have several different challenges for which I would appreciate advice.

    Pipe runs for shower

We are installing a 1200 x 900 shower in the bathroom, next to the bath, into a 1360mm gap. The back wall and the end wall are lath-&-plaster. What do you suggest regarding running the supply pipes? I think it would not be practicable to try to run them up inside the lath-&-plaster stud...

    Bath / Shower interface

It’s a long bathroom, with a bath along one wall, and next to it is a space where we have removed the hot water tank and airing cupboard. This space is 1360mm long, so we want to install a 1200 x 900 shower in that space. The back wall and the end wall are lath-&-plaster. We had thought to...

    Installing a shower cubicle

Thanks for that URL. Yes, the wall / sloping ceiling interface runs along the wall where the 900 dimension of the tray goes, the 1200 dimension is along the other wall, so the infill will have a top edge part sloping, part flat. Well, absolutely - but I just don't know where I can put them...

    Water supply runs to shower

Here are a cuppla pix to illustrate the challenges. The edge of the shower tray will fall along the line that the screwdrivers point to. The 22mm supply comes from Tees on the stand-pipes feeding the pedestal basin in the next room. They come through the wall (different floor levels), and...

    Water supply runs to shower

Thanks, Terry. The adjacent pipes are 22mm - I planned to step down to 15mm, but should I continue in 22mm ? I've got a pressure regulator set to 6 bar.
