    Boiler running constantly

Interesting - I have previously had to change that microswitch. Having left it powered off for a few hours, I find that it's now got no problem. time for some watchful waiting.

    Boiler running constantly

Sounds interesting, could this be retrofitted? Could I do it myself (reasonably proficient DIYer).

    Boiler running constantly

Just this morning my boiler (Vailant Turbomax 282e) has started running constantly - the heating is always on. This is regardless of the position of the switch on the timer. If I turn down the thermostat on the boiler, it does cut out (though of course the pump continues to run). It still...

Bathroom zones, does the toilet count?

Better. Are you sure, though, the previous poster was quite definite? I don quite have 3m (2.8) but don't need a socket, was planning fixed wiring through an rcd protected spur.

Bathroom zones, does the toilet count?

In a big bathroom, can I place laundry equipment next to the toilet? It would be outside zone 2 in relation to the bath and shower. All the zone explanations talk about showers and baths as being in the centre if the zones, are toilets (and washbasins) also centres?

I forgot to reply to this at the time. Thanks to your advice I was able to completely repair the machine, it now spins much better too. Thank you.

Hoover WDM130 - Not filling, skips through program.

New brushes ordered. Is there anything a bit more "household" for cleaning the commutator??

Hoover WDM130 - Not filling, skips through program.

I took the motor off and inspected the brushes. They are worn down, of course (nearly 10y old) but both sides look OK, there is a good cm of carbon left and the springs are springy. However when I ran a rinse cycle, there was lots of bright sparking on one side where the brush sits (couldn't...

Hoover WDM130 - Not filling, skips through program.

Will do... but would that also explain why the programme doesn't start and filling stops early?

Hoover WDM130 - Not filling, skips through program.

Interesting. I put it on rinse and it filled, certainly more than before, and then proceded through the rinse and spin. HOWEVER. I is making some really scary noises. Whenever it starts the motor to spin or agitate, it makes a quick sharp, grinding screech, quite loud. And while...

Hoover WDM130 - Not filling, skips through program.

Can anyone help me diagnose this? 0s: Programme selected: Cold water fill begins. No hot water drawn 30s: Water flow stops. Water level is not visible in the drum. Timer begins to make "ticka-ticka-ticka" noise. Small sounds come from within, possibly switches. Drum does not move. 3m...

    Bosch vacuum cleaner overheating

I've done that and after letting it cool down it sucks like new and seems not to be overheating. Lesson learned.

    Bosch vacuum cleaner overheating

My Bosch upright vac keeps overheating. It then trips some kind of cut-out and won't work until it cools off. Any ideas what might be making it overheat? It seems to be working fine when it runs, but it only lasts a few minutes. Cheers John.
