    Plastic coating to go over paint?

    Depends on what type of paint you used to colour them.. Oil-based paint will pickle if you sray it with clear laquer from a can..

    True.. Try Tetrion 'all-purpose' or Easifill.. RedDevil 'Onetime ' is the exeption to the rule as far as ready-mixed fillers go though..

    Two 1/2"layers - definitley not beyond the capabilities of Easifill on cracks illustrated by gille's photos... Obviously anything wider would require plasrteing :roll:

    I use it on depths up to 1" but in two applications, approx 18-24 hours apart depending on drying time/temperature..Superb stuff :wink:

    Where did you buy it? The Leyland trade undercoat I sometimes use is great stuff - second only to Crown in my opinion

    Ive never had a problem with it. Its no use in gaps wider than about 2-3 mm Make sure you buy a decent trade brand , not the thin stuff from a DIY store.

    Jam a suitably-sized piece of wood in the hole just below surface level then apply a filler such as Tetrion or Easifill up to the wall level ..Once the lining papers covered it you wont know its there :wink:
