    Just in order to start a debate :P "all major works" are notifiable. Some kitchens that I fit can cost up to £15,000 just to buy. Plus fitting on top. so £25,000 worth of work could be considered "major works" :?:

    Ikea are o.k but I would never fit one in a house that does not have cavity walls, There is far too little service area at the back and does not leave solid walls "breath" Howdens are not for the average d.i.y'r as the do not supply any instructions for fitting the different types of hinges...

    As far as I am aware D is a code for "delay" shows after running hot tap. If no dripping taps then it is almost certainly a leak that is well out of sight. The fact that it fired up when you turned the cold supply off makes me think that there is a leak somewhear. If you are on a water meter...

    When you say 2 grey wires, do you mean two single core wires or do you mean two grey cables with twin and earth inside the sheathing ?
