Cold front room and new rad, plus a complicated drawing!

OK last question! I'm going to run the new pipework in the plastic stuff (copper up to rad). It will be under the floor boards. Is it OK to clip it under the joists (ground floor level). This way I won't need to notch any joists. Chris

Cold front room and new rad, plus a complicated drawing!

We've currently got a bin bag full of newspaper up ours which makes for good fun when you light the fire for the first time in the winter and realise its still up there!

Cold front room and new rad, plus a complicated drawing!

Great replies thanks. By the way, we do have a chimney! I think we'll go with the bigest rad we can but the only place it can go is under the window so we'll shorten the cutains so that they sit on the windowsil rather than hanging over it. Then hopefully the heat won't get trapped behind...

I need to replace the window in my sons playhouse. I can get perspex from the local shop but how do I cut it without it shattering? Cheers Chris

    Good floor insulation?

Our front room is always much colder in the winter than the rest of the house. I believe this is down to two things - the front door (but this has as much draft exclusion around it as possible) and it is the only room downstairs which has floor boards and a void underneath rather than concrete...

Should I rip out all junction boxes!

I have just been reading this post.... http://www.diynot.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=187857 Having just finished re-doing bits of my house I know that there are plenty of these junction boxes and some are concealed in ceiling voids which cannot be accessed and under floor boards. (not put...

How do I cut paving slabs?

I'm going to use paving slabs to make a new path leading to my front door. The trouble is that the front door has a circular step. Is there a way to cut paving slabs in a circular fashion? See attached drawing to see what I'm doing. It a bit of a rough drawing! Many thanks, Chris
