To be fair the instant is a bit of a pig to drain all the water completely if you have never done this before you will wet the P.C.B and clock.But if you need to know.Isolate flow and return valves under boiler extreme right and left put a bucket under the drain point small white knob to right...

You are the fault in removing the combustion door and allowing your boiler to fire you headcase. Keep up that sort of behaviour and you may make the morning news :(

Well there is where the problem is if we do not know what make and model items are we can not offer much advice but i do believe the fault is the stat/programmer.At the reciever usually located near the boiler have an overide option ?

Dear Desperate i dont know how you are coping with these "Artic " conditions you must be bloody freezing ! Have you tried changing the batteries in your remote control room stat ?
