When the pcb was changed were the temp control knobs "zeroed" If they were not when you turn the knobs up to max you may feel some resistance around the mid way point,that would sugest they are not travelling to there full potential

Its the HE it sounds like a dive bomber so thats what it is. Agile the noise does stop eventually perhaps it stopped just as the cover was removed...a coincidence.....

Its the primary heat exchanger it is contaminated with sludge/dirty water.You would also require a full check of your boiler by a rgi to gas rate it etc

Make sure the conector at the overheat stat is tight and well connected

Screeming POWERFLUSH is the last resort a simple inspection of the return filter on the boiler is the easiest place to start.........followed by many other checks before the wallet is opened...
