    Any Tesla lovers out there?

So if your 23 year old Passat wasn't able to absorb the energy from the crash using cruple zones, that probably means your body would have had to take the energy. I'd rather see a human walk out of a crash with the car in a million pieces than a barely dented car but a human with potentially...

    £40-£50k Investing Ideas

I do like the advice given to buy a house. If you read the OP, he has the £50k because he just sold his second house. Now he hasn't been clear on why he sold it, but I would suggest if he was looking to invest it back into property, he would be pretty aware about that. It's far more likely...

    £40-£50k Investing Ideas

Rather than seeking the advice of a bunch of keyboard warriors on the internet, I would suggest seeking the advice of a financial advisor. He would be able to accurately ascertain all of the factors that will go into making the right decision such as how long you are looking to invest for, how...

    Running

Liverpool was tough! I went out a touch too fast, was at about 3:05 pace at halfway. The second half of the race was a lot more challenging, it was quite poorly supported and the course itself was just quite dull and twisty going round some parks. I very much hit the wall and was still...

    Running

I went for a run on Tuesday actually. I had to come back after 5 minutes though because I forgot something. As I came back through the door, my wife asked me what I had forgotten... "I forgot that I can't run!" I replied. Seriously though, I identify myself as a runner... I had an on off...

Wifi Issue - Driving me nuts

Your first mistake is in buying an extender. As you have discovered, they provide a different Wifi network to connect to which means you end up with your devices trying to decide which one to connect to as you move round the house and often hanging onto the weaker one for too long before moving...

This happens to me ALL the time. I find it embarassing for all involved.

Drivers that really grind your gears

I drive a fair bit in Spain and this is very common practise. So much so that my (Spanish) wife believed how they do it there was correct. It took a very in depth and sometimes heated discussion of me explaining how it should work for the penny to drop and admit I was right. I hope to look...

    Temporary Security....

Why are you going to bed for a few weeks? I need to get up for a wee if I'm in bed for longer than 4 hours these days.

    Pool heat pump installed!

As mentioned earlier in the thread but it may have passed you by so I'll try and make it clearer. The Kw output of your heat pump is dependent upon the ambient temperature. So when the air temerature is 15 degrees, you will get nowhere near 4kw of power from it. When it is 30 degrees, you...

Samsung American fridge freezer not dispensing ice

I think it was a simple typo. Replace "So" with "No" and it makes sense and matches the title of the thread.

Samsung American fridge freezer not dispensing ice

There is probably just some ice stuck as it comes down from the bucket holding your supply of ice cubes into the shoot out of the front of the door. I don't know your model but you should be able to remove the bucket from inside the door and that should give you access to where the ice comes...

    The demise of the Mondeo

This thread is a bit like one of those times when they announce someone famous is dead and you can't help but think to yourself "I thought he died years ago!"

Mug punters determined to lose their money

Okay, I don't think I am able to help explain this any more. What you mean is that a mug punter can get ripped off by paying more for something than YOU think it is worth. It's all really basic economics, I think I did it when I was about 14 at school. (y)

Mug punters determined to lose their money

You seem to be getting very confused by this all. The value of a public listed company is derived by the forces of the market driving the stock price. Now you may think that valuation is wrong, but that is your opinion. Unfortunately, you are one man whereas the market is much larger so they...

Mug punters determined to lose their money

Well actually the price of the shares (multiplied by the number of shares) is the Market Capitalistation of the company so it is exactly the "value" of the company. Your second point about the quality of products etc can be contributing factors that drive the share price and therefore the...

Rust Spots on Timber Windows & Doors (?)

100% yes. Should settle down once the building works have finished. In the meantime, you should be able to use some ironout type product for cars (Halfords if you want a quick and easy win). Spray it on, leave it to start working for 5 minutes (it normally turns purple or something and...

Rust Spots on Timber Windows & Doors (?)

Looks to me like iron fallout that is then rusting. Are you near to a railway line or industrial site where there might be excess iron fillings in the air? You can see it a lot on cars, there is specific iron fallout remover products that you use to disolve the iron before polishing your car etc.
