    It might be abit tight, but would this work ? You also wouldn't have to extend the cables, but the circuit would still have to be RCD protected.

    Try unplugging everything, rather than just switching off, it could be a faulty appliance. Dont forget about any sockets that may me hidden, eg. fridge, dishwasher or boiler ect.

    Yes a crimp will be just fine, use a red one and fold the bare copper from the white lead to about three time its original thickness to get a good surface area to crimp.

    Its 450mm to the bottom and 1200mm to the top of the accessory. I don't believe that there is a set distance from the door frame.
