    Replacing a Powermax boiler

Ok Agile and Softus no need for a slanging match ! BigBurner the thermal store IMI Range Powermaxes, although dated, are good units when maintainted properly. The issue has been a lack of qualified decent engineers to maintain them !!! Softus why do you continue to get to uptight ? You...

    Replacing a Powermax boiler

Softus I started to read your post, and then realised again it was aimless rambling, with no structure or purpose, or actual 'aim'. Stop re-igniting this thread all the time, like I mentioned before the creator has lost interest or already solved his problem with/without our help now.

    Replacing a Powermax boiler

Softus, the only thing you have successfully 'highlighted' is how annoyed you get over a post that even the question creator is not bothered about anymore !!! Why not help out in some other threads instead of writing aimless text in this thread aimed at me all the time. Simond has managed...

    Replacing a Powermax boiler

    Replacing a Powermax boiler

Softus keep up, I wasn't recommending DEFINITELY repairing the boiler, I was trying to point out that the assumption to replace whole units is made too often without justification, from this thread you cannot guarantee that the item is not repairable. Plus, who says the owner will be in the...

    Replacing a Powermax boiler

Simond must be another person who likes to replace boilers regardless then. Easy money....

    Replacing a Powermax boiler

Not repairing a boiler because it is 17 years old is not grounds for a replacement, and recommending boiler replacements without a full diagnosis is jumping the gun slightly. FACT

    Replacing a Powermax boiler

'Hasty' even, Anyway the owner doesn't seem too worried now, so perhaps the issue is resolved, let's forget it. Cheers,

    Replacing a Powermax boiler

Nickso, I don't deny you may be knowledgeable on the boiler, recommending a replacement without seeing it and assuming it cannot be replaced by a text description means you are being hasting. All I am saying is it is possible it could be mended, how would you know for sure it must be replaced ???

    Replacing a Powermax boiler

Nickso are you an expert ? You appear to be talking nonsense, the poster hasn't made it totally clear what the defect actually is, but apparantly its a cast iron case for replacing the whole boiler for £2-3 grand.

    Replacing a Powermax boiler

Simond is there a reason why you are recommending replacing a boiler that can probably be mended for a minimal cost, or is it standard practise to replace everything regardless just because it may be 15 years old plus ? 99% of engineers want to replace these boilers because they are not...

    Replacing a Powermax boiler

Don't replace this boiler !!!!! They are good boilers, which engineers shy away from, don't let them rip you off !!!!!!!!!!!
