    SDIO wifi card on laptop

Just looked into this further. It may be easier and cheaper just getting a laptop-specific card. SDIO devices, although using exactly the same socket contacts as an SD card, probably won't interface to your laptop, via USB ard reader, in the same way that an SDIO slot on a PDA would...

    WC Cistern in Loft?

Cheers all for your comments. I may have to put some pretty heavy duty lagging around the cistern then to stop freezing, as it probably will be tight into the eaves. I did think about a smaller bore flush pipe but I would have to experiment with this first, in case it restricted the flow...

    WC Cistern in Loft?

Thanks Dextrous. Assuming the water did not splash over the sides of the bowl this would be quite a good effect then, providing a more powerful flush. I guess I could limit the flow somehow at the cistern end (partially obstruct the downpipe), if things got out of hand!...

    SDIO wifi card on laptop

I the SDIO card uses an interface that your PC has (USB for example) and the SDIO card manufacturer has written drivers for the operating system on your PC, this should work. Check on their website.

Cheers big-all, suspected this would be the case. Fortunately my neighbour is a very nice person! I did read somewhere though that the act would apply only if any part of the wall was replaced, removed or added to ie. increasing the height. This may have been the act itself that states...

Attaching cross battens to party wall

Hello, This is a sub-question from my post here: http://www.diynot.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=172262 I want to run cross battens from the side wallplate within a hipped roof and attach these to the existing ceiling joists (at 90 degrees) below, to spread the load. I would like to attach...

    Loft Ceiling Joist Query

Cheers Noseall, it might read better after a couple of Jamesons! :? That's cleared a few things up. I think I will break the points up and post these seperately as suggested, thanks for taking the time to read through it though.. The rafter ends in question are on the side of the house...

    Loft Ceiling Joist Query

Hi all, New on here and finally got round to posting. Bear with me as this is going to be a long one. I’m going to create a secure loft area to store items that are currently in my spare bedroom to allow the spare bedroom to be used as a bedroom and not a store room. The loft is better...
