    uPVC Max Door Size?

Yes its a strength problem. Most go to 1m some might go to 1050mm, You could do a 1050mm door with 2x 50mm addons. If you don't want to do that you will either need French doors or an aluminum door

    UPVC Door Threshold REPAIR QUERY

    Removing UPVC decoration paint

Actual cost price of the units isn't bad, around £25 for the smaller ones & £45 for the big ones (toughened glass). Measuring and fitting are the tricky bits especially as it looks like your windows are externally beaded so it s all going to have to be done off ladders. Get a quote from a local...

    Bifolds - Visifold or Origin

I was actually just working working on that last quote. I quoted £4200 supplied and fitted. The doors are actually 4.5m 4 pane. 38mm triple glazed. Doc Q security, Laminated external glass. So possibly about £800 cheaper without those extra bits. I would say though get the doors fitted by a...

    Bifolds - Visifold or Origin

Where abouts are you? That sounds pricey to me, Off the top of my head I'm sure I'm about to do a Visofold 4m, 4 pane, Doc Q security rated, Triple glazed with laminated external glass for quite a bit less than that. I use Smart and have had no problems, Go for the DV176 threshold. You will...

    PCV door rubbing at top

When you say top I assume you mean the top side rather than the actual top? Assuming so yes it should be adjustable, Post a pic of the door so we can see the alignment and a close up of the hinges

Should I have installed my composite door plumb or parallel?

Plumb is best. Leaning out a bit is ok as that will only aid drainage but the door will self close/open as mentioned above. Leaning in is a no,no as it prevents drainage. Anyway plumb is best and if it looks a little odd due to brickwork being out you can scribe in some trims to improve the look.

Advice Needed On Roller Garage Doors

8ft (if my quick google is correct) is well under 3m so you can use a compact door with a 205mm box. If you measure down from your lintel to the underside of the open door I'm betting thats more than 205mm so you would gain headroom and could even fit it a little further out to gain depth. Guide...

Advice Needed On Roller Garage Doors

Good point, Externally mounted is an option too but does look a bit ugly. Whats your width. My supplier goes upto 3m wide for a compact door with a 205mm box. Above that size goes upto the 300mm box

Advice Needed On Roller Garage Doors

Several options there. I am assuming the steel lintel is also carrying the outer leaf of brickwork. Come right in behind the brick pillars for a full width and height behind fix. Completely do away with the timber frame for max opening size but sacrifice a little depth (thickness of the pillars)...

    Filling gap around window

PVC trims would be the easiest option. If your going to plaster in then it sounds like you already know not to bridge DPC etc and that pretty much all there is too it. Ideally you would also replace the window board too
