    Glow worm Ultrapower 100sxi store

You need to measure your incoming water pressure and flow rates first as they might not be good enough to support this boiler.

Is the pump running?, does the fan run? I'd look at these before going straight to the PCB.

    Wiring celtic wireless roomstat

That's one way of doing it, but in the M.i's for the boiler or reciever it might require you to take the permanent live from the fused spur.

    Wiring celtic wireless roomstat

The celtic reciever needs a permanent Live and Neutral, then on the switching side will need the common and normally open wiring into the roomstat port in the boiler (has a link that needs removing).

    PCB Ferroli MF08FA.1 Domicompact F30B

Mad Vaux the PCB controls gas components on your boiler and associated safety devices. Might be best to leave it alone and either get a Gas Safe guy into do the repair or phone Ferroli and see if you can get a fixed price repair. It's not not just a case of swopping over a PCB and away you...

Baxi Bermuda 401 - radiators heating when HW on

As above with regards to the anti-grav valve, but have seen a couple of systems with no valve fitted at all. If on a gravity system then check that there is an anti grav valve fitted and clean/replace as necessary, if not then fit a double check valve after the pump. Forgot to add, when...

Pressure loss on Worcester Bosch 24CDI RSF Combi

Trev, there should be no drip on a PRV no matter how small. This is where you are losing pressure from. You might have got a bit of dirt on the valve seat when fitting it. Best thing to do is open the PRV to let a bit of water out and see if it clears it and that the PRV re-seals correctly...

    Fitting log burning stove

The correct thing to do is to contact a HETAS registered fitter to carry out a site survey and provide you with a quote. Fitting a stove and flue liner is not a job for a DIY'er i'm afraid. If you post your area maybe someone on here could put you in touch with a HETAS guy?

    Asbestos soil pipe

I have removed a couple of asbestos soil pipes (well a specialist firm did) and replaced them with plastic soil pipes. The easiest way to check if it's asbestos or a cast iron stack is to place a magnet on it, obviously asbestos ain't magnetic. You can get a cast iron to plastic pipe soil...

    washers for 28mm pump valves

As above ask for pump washers at the merchants, you can get them as a fibre or rubber washer. I normally use the rubber washers. BTW the grunny pump should have had two washers with it, if it's not too old you could ask the supplier to give you another washer.

Schoolboy error - need help please!!

Copper is not magnetic, magnetic corrosion is (sludge). Get a strong magnet and run it over the cold feed until you feel it magnetise, usual place is where the 15mm cold feed tee's into the central heating.

Possible to have hot water only from combi boiler?

Have done this before a few times when doing installs just to get the customer some domestic hot water. If you experience any "kettling" sounds then if your boilers system bypass (inside boiler) can be manually set I would open it fully, otherwise make a temporary loop in copper between the...

    new veissman

To Joe Soap, did they gas rate the boiler with only the hot tap open? If so you can't do this on the viessmann 100 as it modulates down and thus gives you a figure of 22kw heat input. I had a similar figure when I commissioned one a while back. You have to set it to service mode with...

What Size Radiator do I need.

Wxdxh = m3, divide by 24 (Gives a kitchen room temp of 18 degrees) = 1.23kw. Look in merchants catalogue and find a radiator to suit the Kw output.

There is a 3 minute wait when the Central heating shuts down until it will fire up again. Do you have a room thermostat and what temp is it set to? and what temperature have you set the boiler stat to?
