DIAGRAM FOR PLUMBING IN A THERMOSTATIC MIXER GRAVITY FED

Thanks for the reply,, now I am really confused. Why do I need to fit anything to the cylinder?? All I am trying to do is fit a tee into the existing pipework so that I can go into new mixer valve?? Maybe its me being stupid, or maybe I didn't explain what I was asking very well.

Hello again my friend,, well I realise it is a bit late posting a reply to this but I have been in hospital for an operation and have been recovering. I wonder if you can advise me on what you may think is a stupid question but here goes. On the picture I posted showing the hot water...

DIAGRAM FOR PLUMBING IN A THERMOSTATIC MIXER GRAVITY FED

Thanks ChrisR.. The prob I have is that I am in a bungalow and the tank is aleady on a wooden platform with the tank butting up against the roof joists so theres not much opportunity to put it higher, although I could perhaps move the platform a little more to the centre of the apex which would...

GTodd evening gents. Before I start installing the new water tank and mixer could I just ask one final question please.. Is it beneficial to use 22m cold water from the tank down to the mixer and the reduce to 15mm or is there no benefit. I just wondered if the run of 22m might provide a little...

DIAGRAM FOR PLUMBING IN A THERMOSTATIC MIXER GRAVITY FED

I think that makes sense to me, when you say the highest in the tank, as there is only one outlet at the moment, do you mean when I install the cold outlet for the mixer the main outlet should be slightly higher than the mixer outlet.. It's turning out to be a little bit more involved than I...

I here what you are saying , it does make sense, would I still be able to connect the outlet to the bottowm of the tank as it is now, I realise nowadays they outlet is usually at the side, but this would mean I would have to re-route the outlet.

Thank you so much for the very fast reply. I understand, so it should be fine for me just leave the inside as it is and cut off the pipe going outside and connect a new piece of overflow pipe to the existing, or would you suggest taking it all out and replacing it with plastic and leaving the...

DIAGRAM FOR PLUMBING IN A THERMOSTATIC MIXER GRAVITY FED

This is probably my final posting on this subject Softus. The galvanised water tank in the loft has been in situ since 1964. It seems very solid and I see no reason to change it. I am just a little confused that the overflow is 22m copper. It enters the tank at the side but then on the inside...

DIAGRAM FOR PLUMBING IN A THERMOSTATIC MIXER GRAVITY FED

Hello again. The fittings I thought about using are in the screwfix catalogue called cuprofit. I am happy to use compression fittings if you think they would do. I am in a bungalow, the cylinder is in a cupboard about one metre square in the bathroom, the valve will be on the outside wall...

DIAGRAM FOR PLUMBING IN A THERMOSTATIC MIXER GRAVITY FED

Thanks for the quick supportive reply...Do you think I need to use 22m from the tank as close to the valve as poss or would using a reducer at the tank end be ok, it would just be a tad cheaper. I though about using push fit copper connections, how do I judge how much I need to cut off the pipe...
