will an I-Sense work on an Atag A325EC?

Sorry to resurrect this post guys. My boiler is finally plumbed, and will be commissioned in a week's time, so it's time for me to turn my attention back to a thermostat/programmer. Knuckles, have you found the isense's OT to actually work with the atag to gently throttle the boiler around...

will an I-Sense work on an Atag A325EC?

Dan and Alec... to come full circle I think there are too many variables in the equation for my particular property. I would honestly challenge you to right-size the rads for my house Dan. (Really... I challenge you!) It is a 60's bungalow with 9" solid walls, so no cavity to insulate...

will an I-Sense work on an Atag A325EC?

By the term 'Optimisation', do you mean that this is Honeywell's term for TPI Dan? (Time Proportional & Integral) Sorrry, but I had to give it best at half passed midnight last night.... I had to be up at 5 for work!

will an I-Sense work on an Atag A325EC?

Hmm... I understand what you are saying, but it sounds somewhat of a fudge. I understand how the WC will give a sort-of-appropriate supply temperature based upon the outside temperature, BUT... I cannot see how it can do anything to even out the house's temperature swings like OT can...

will an I-Sense work on an Atag A325EC?

I don't have an issue with understanding a manual Dan ...Well, unless it's poorly written ;-) Correct me if I'm wrong though please.... I get the idea that you are suggesting a boiler fitted with on/off stat combined with WC is somehow an equivalent substitute for an OT stat controlled boiler?

will an I-Sense work on an Atag A325EC?

Good Idea on the distance selling regs Dan. I can use my existing on/off thermostat initially. Re the Honeywell... I've just quickly googled, and cannot see that any of these are actually OT-based. Am I missing something?

will an I-Sense work on an Atag A325EC?

Thanks Alec1... I have been hearing conflicting opinions: My naïve thoughts were that the whole point of OT was to encourage cross-compatibility between boilers and controls, yet I hear the manufactures purposefully implement it in their own way, which can ruin any compatibility! I was...

will an I-Sense work on an Atag A325EC?

Just bought an Atag A325ECX, and want a compatible opentherm thermostat. Not very keen on Atag's Wize controller (usability or price) Wondered if anyone has managed to get Remeha's I-Sense working on an Atag? I tried to resist posting a new topic, but have googled extensively, and...

Atag A325EC or Intergas Combi Compact HRE 36/30 ?

The RGI I had for my last house was a great guy, but terribly unreliable at turning up. I was then recommended a local RGI by my father in law, who had serviced his boiler for years. This guy is an Intergas gold installer, but not Atag trained. He is however a cracking guy whom I can trust...

Atag A325EC or Intergas Combi Compact HRE 36/30 ?

Firstly, my decision was made on research made last Summer through to Autumn... I was not aware of the HReco when I ordered the Atag last week, otherwise that would have complicated my decision all over again!!! When I search now, I can only find info in Dutch on the HReco, so I guess there is a...

Atag A325EC or Intergas Combi Compact HRE 36/30 ?

thanks Dan. The A325ECX came with it's own weather compensation sensor, which will get fitted. As for opentherm, I don't like the £215 Atag Wize controller much, and was hoping to get the system working with a Remeha I-Sense. (Apart from the fact I like it's layout, it's literally half the...

Atag A325EC or Intergas Combi Compact HRE 36/30 ?

Just an update... broken leg much better! Through-wintered with my old boiler at vast expense. NEW BOILER PURCHASED, delivered, and ready to be installed. .....I went with the ATAG A325ECX. 8) Thanks for all the advice along the way gents... much appreciated! Now my attention is...

Atag A325EC or Intergas Combi Compact HRE 36/30 ?

Did not buy yet because... Fell off my roof, breaking my heel, my Fibula, dislocating my ankle, and breaking a bone in my hand too... The subsequent surgery and (initial)recovery to a limping-without-crutches stage has taken me out of action for basically three months, which meant winter was...

Atag A325EC or Intergas Combi Compact HRE 36/30 ?

Just a little bump... Just before I make my purchase... any other comments or recommendations in favour of the Atag A325EC over the Intergas HRE 36/30, or visa-versa please? All comments welcome thank you.

Atag A325EC or Intergas Combi Compact HRE 36/30 ?

I only wish my latest house had a 4kW heat-loss! I'm in a 1965 bungalow... the owner was a builder, and didn't trust those new-fangled cavity walls, so he built solid 9 inch walls instead! I plan to systematically insulate them internally with 75 or 100mm of PIR, one room at a time...

Atag A325EC or Intergas Combi Compact HRE 36/30 ?

...Ah, good, so if S2 is sat at 45 degrees, then the boiler should be condensing nicely. But in your chart, in Heating mode, S2 is up at 54.4, and seeing as it is a sensor bolted to the heatsink, the gasses passing the bottom of the heatsink will be hotter than the temperature registered by...

Atag A325EC or Intergas Combi Compact HRE 36/30 ?

erm... does the above count as quoting you on it? :D If the flue temp is up at 75 degrees, and dew-point is somewhere around 55, then it can only be partially condensing if condensing at all?
