I'm about to line my lounge walls and then the lining paper will be painted. I have used B & Q's 1000 grade lining paper before but find it bubbles when painted. The bubbles do go down but never looks perfect. Is there a better lining paper to use? Thanks

Just wondering the best way to repair hairline cracks in cornice. The cracks go from the ceiling to the wall through the cornice. If I just fill them they will re appear in months to come. Ideally tape and skim them but this is not practicle because of the shape of the cornice. What can I do? Thanks

Ok I see the dfe pot but I was planning on getting a reclaimed pot so it matches the house. How does a normal pot vary? Is the pot just what matches or is there certain pots for certain chimneys?

It will be a normal decrotive gas fire. Sorry whats dfe? And is it as simple as removing the slab in top of the chimney and cementing on new pot? I'm a sparkie so pretty handy and this type of thing but just want to get it right. I have uploaded a picture now too..

Ok so your saying that the system would detect the cats? Its not really a big deal about that anyway. So which system do you guys recommend for a reasonable price? This may be a stupid question but can you use cat5 cable to wire the system as oppose to alarm cable?
