Yes thanks for your input matey. I'm glad you know it all. I suppose you were born with your knowledge and haven't learnt it at any point in your life. Isn't that what this forum is for, finding out information? I'm a sparkie mate but haven't worked on the fire alarm side of things before...

    Damp proofing DIY

I have a little damp on the walls in the house i'm buying and from what the surveyer has said there is no damp course. I've seen damp proofing kits on the internet for injecting a resin or silicone into the brickwork. What are these kits like and do they do the job? Thanks

    Installing own central heating system

Yes I agree, but I would be happy to pay them double and more than that as i would be getting the job done cheaper still. Really I just need like you say to find someone that is happy to work with me. I could leave all the pipework exposed so they can check joints etc as the house is currently...

    Installing own central heating system

Thanks Tony. Yes that sounds like a good idea, I will have to find someone that is willing to do them bits for me. I wanted to do as much as possible which I was thinking would include hanging and connecting up the boiler (apart from the gas and flue) So what you are saying that the boiler...

    which side to fit trv

but is it worth trying to get the entire system flushed? Should it not be part of their maitenence procedure?

    which side to fit trv

I gather that the trv should be fitted on the flow side of my new towel rail but on my old towel rail it for some reason was fitted to the return side. I will have to alter the pipework to fit it on the flow side so is it acceptable to leave the trv on the return side. Also the reason for me...
