Its quite simple, GRP doesn't have the thermal movement ability of most flat roof systems, the deck has more. When one moves at a diferent speed to the other, you get noise. Same as when an old house creaks in the evening, its contracting due to cooling.
GRP does not have the thermal expansion abilities of a proper roof, it should be installed on a slip layer. Give it a few years and it will fracture, because its ****.
You won't learn how to be a Roofer in 2 weeks, you start at the bottom and if you're lucky, a time served old boy will teach you the right way.
You could do an EPDM course, thats only 4 hours ! :mrgreen:
You're roof is not too bad, the soldier course can stay, it just needs the waterprofing going to the edge and terminating in a trim. Stones off and an overlay in HT felt with new lead slates and flashing internally. 2k tops.
