    cold water copper pipe size

Quite normal. Will probably be coming off a 3/4" lead pipe. Before putting a boiler in get a good plumber to check flow rate of your cold main. A lot of fly by night fitters will install a combi without even checking the supply is suitable. If it is don't worry about the 15mm cold to the basin...

    copper v plastic

Perfect for the DIYer. If you are going to use plastic use a decent brand like HEP2O.

    Refilling combi quick query

Dont get pressure and flow rate mixed up. Its flow rate you want to bear in mind and filling by the filling loop will probably be the same and tidier. Does not take long to fill CH system up.

Over Fluxing on Central Heating fittings

As my old Tutor used to say, flux was the boiler killer!

    Plumbers tool??

I'm pretty sure it would be contentious to use with gas as its weakening the pipe slightly when the socket is formed.

Shower waste into rain water pipe

Glad you checked this runs into sewars and not rainwater/flood drains Most DIYers wont! Unfortunately as stated there are no fittings for what you require, how far is the nearest stack?

SDS drill bits longer than 1m

SDS drill bits longer than 1m

I've done it before when stuck on a job. It's possible with very accurate measuring, it was to run 15mm copper through a 9" wall but the size of the bit gave me a little to play with a few milli...

Advice on which tool(s) to buy...

you are spending way too much for casual home DIY. There is only one brand for you.... wait for it... No Big Al so here goes... Ryobi. Get the 18v one+ system and you can have an impact driver and combi for about a ton if you shop around. For light masonry drilling you can get away with...

What size of plaster board and how thick ?

The advantage of 8x4 is that it will be cheaper, its not that difficult to work with really. 12.5mm for ceilings nothing else will do. Anything smaller and it will sag on ceilings, I don't even use 9.5mm for Dot and dab... Screws will need to be longer, as the joist will be 6-8" wide I am a...

    Push Fit Fittings.

Plumbers are belt and braces type men, well I am so I wouldn't use plastic  . You just wouldn't even consider using plastic pipe without inserts, just asking for trouble.

Drill driver, impact driver, voltage etc...I'm confused.com!

JCB should stick to making diggers! Hate it when well known brands try to venture into another market using their name to get places.

What kind of shower is it? if its a mixer on a combi then use the old bath hot + Cold. If its electric use the Cold feed and cap the hot. What is the distance from the centre of the pan connector to the branch connection of your new 40/50mm shower waste? As far as I'm aware no regs for...
