    Stanley open tote deal

Yeah very useful, I can snugly fit my Irwin floorboard saw in it easily! It's absolutely perfect for organisation of tools, no sifting through the bottom of your bag for the tool you need!

Filling in gaps prior to tanking

I normally fill any areas with tile adhesive and let it dry, you could scrim over it but I don't bother, the thick tanking spread will cover over this area.

    Stanley open tote deal

I picked one up for 15 notes at the last B&Q sale. I got a bigger Tote for my main tools but this one is good for a secondary.

    Power tools from the States

110V USA is totally different to our 110V through a transformer, its the frequency that is different. I wouldn't plug that in here!

removing a crumbling arch from a brick fireplace

Last one I did I just knocked it out, your chimney aint going to fall down because of it. Stick a lintel above the arch. The cheeks looks substantial enough to bear the lintel.

    Disposable Gas Cylinders

Hmm doubt it will be worth refilling old bottles really and they are at high pressure not like your regular Butane lighter refill bottles! I prefer MAP much more economical, gets hotter quicker but if you're not careful can easily lose control. The propane gives you more control. the MAP can...

    soil pipe angle

Be careful, you will not be able to branch into anything lower than 450mm from the long radius bend of that stack... Since that bend is underground its hard to tell if the point at where your stack will join will be more than 450mm.

Shoddy work giving tradesmen a bad name.

How can the plastic manufacturers give a 50 year guarantee when they haven't even been there that long! No one even gives copper that sort of guarantee even though we all know it is quite capable of lasting that long so how the hell do you think plastic will last that long?

    Maktec?

I suspect they are trying to imitate the Bosch Green range of power tools where the inner mechanics are not built to optimum performance so saving on costs. I have never used them before so not sure how they perform. SF however seem to advertise them as equals which is confusing :?

    compression joint below floorboard

Best practice is no compression fitting under floors etc... Only one inaccessible compression joint can be used and that is manipulative joints underground and that is for Table Y copper. What you have to ask yourself is is it worth the hassle, compression joints under floors will have...

Power tool batteries you can leave on charge?

I wouldnt leave them in the charger if they are Ni-Cd batteries they need looking after properly. You will kill them very quickly if not.

    recomend me an impact driver

If you are putting in concrete fixings you might want to consider a 1/2" impact wrench rather than an impact driver. I can only comment on Makita impact drivers but mine is faultless and with about 145N/m of torque its plenty for my needs.

Anyone do a lot of bogs?- Question rephrased!

Pop down to your local shed with a tape measure and measure the edge to the inside of the pan connection. Add that to the pan connector and you should get your answer as we have no idea of what kind of close coupling toilet you have, they would vary a lot... S Trap base on a pan connector? Do...

    Nail in pipe fix

It always makes me laugh when people say they can fix things like this in 20 minutes. Like you say its the time getting there, getting your tools, assessing the situation getting the materials and fixing the job which is not always straight forward, Draining down in 20 minutes? I don't think so...
