    I would stick jute scrim on the foam, paint the foam with neat pva then press the scrim onto / into the pva, don't brush the pva over the scrim as you want to keep all the little fibres lose to bind the skim coat to it.

    That would give cold spot condensation and black mould spots. the thinnest insulated board I know of is 22mm.

    sounds like lime mortar, best tool to remove is hatchet, just start at the bottom and chop at a angle.

    You don't take cuttings, you take a bud and graft it on to a root stock or another bush, if you want a standard rose the go dig up a nice straight dog rose from a hedge and cut to height and graft on to that, its about rose budding time now, try a search on rose budding.

    Did you leave your scratch coat with a open course finish or did you leave it looking nice and smooth ?.

    Talk him out of it if you can, if not then I would batten it horizontal with 2x1 tile batten, no more than 400 centres then cover with a breathable roof membrane, then use rib lath for your render key. screw the batten to the house timbers as it will help when you come to take it all off.

    Do the render walls with cinder blocks or concrete blocks, its won't blow off them like it will thermal blocks.
