Understanding short cycling & UVC water temperatures?

I agree Harry, I just wondered if your limited to mono tap only incase i wanted twin taps somewhere. They often give better flow rates on a bath but basins a single tap is usually fine it's just hand washing or dishes, we're the same with young kids so if storing at 60 will need TMV to cover all...

Rust spots on new upvc window sills - is this possible???

Iron X or similar brands for cleaning car wheels is none abrasive and eats the iron deposits away. They came from sunflower gold dash which has deposits of iron in. Also grinding steels as mentioned above goes everywhere and clings to stuff for years. Learn the hard way but theres a few cures...

Understanding short cycling & UVC water temperatures?

@muggles Sorry it took a while to reply, I watched this which backed up what you mention above. I was just unsure if open therm was just a brand name or if it offered any differences to the function of modulating? I would like to pair this system with weather compensation. Is the feature that...

Understanding short cycling & UVC water temperatures?

    1. Are they two separate features thats built into some boilers, hot water priority and open therm? So open therm is just a variable/modulating feature that adapts the burner to cope with how much demand is required. Eg:Whole house calling for heat it ramps up more than if one zone was calling...

Understanding short cycling & UVC water temperatures?

I've two questions to understand? 1.If I'm looking to fit an unvented cylinder with a system boiler to a new self-build, well insulated air tight home, because of UFH ground floor and radiators 1st floor, I've been advised to run the heating water temperature at 60C. Someone in an older post...

    Horizontal TRV with angled connection

Thanks, i didn't realise that the two ends were the same thread/size and the radiator tail would fit both ends of the angle.

    Horizontal TRV with angled connection

Can anyone tell me the search name for a valve like the second one in this picture. Someone I know has a house full of them bought years ago but now require 2 more. I've looked at angled, straight, angled horizontal but can't find them, even this link has 2 pictures and no mention so i'm...

    Underground Inspection chamber base heights?

I've used the method you describe when installing a rectangle lid frame to a brick chamber but always thought with the plastic frames that hold the lid, the round spigot had to fit inside of the round chamber risers to hold it all in place. I see what you mean with the base sitting at the...

    Underground Inspection chamber base heights?

Thanks @noseall The only dimensions i could find online was from Marley and they were showing the lesser diameter chamber bases higher than the 300 ones so it matches what you are saying. I find that strange. If need be I'll have to the first chamber so I can keep it to 300mm deep from cover to...

    Underground Inspection chamber base heights?

Does anyone know what the height/depth of a plastic base inspection chamber is for both 300 to accept 110mm pipe, and 450mm to accept 160mm pipe for foul & surface water? Due to shallow fall over a long run to the mains, I need to keep the first inspection chamber from the house as close to the...

Minimum fall required for foul pipe?

Thanks for your advice. I'll have a read through it.

Minimum fall required for foul pipe?

Since my last post i read 22m between chambers from this site but others mention 100 as you say. https://www.jdpipes.co.uk/knowledge/inspection-chambers/when-is-an-inspection-chamber-required.html Does pea gravel offer good support to prevent any sagging despite it being whats mainly used?

Minimum fall required for foul pipe?

@Hugh Jaleak What do you mean by constant? Apart from one 90 degree to turn around the property after 8m, the rest should almost be a straight line apart from a slight offset possibly 15 degrees. But there will have to be rodding/inspection points at the recommended distances which I need to...

Minimum fall required for foul pipe?

I need to connect to a chamber in the road 73m away for a 4 bedroom house with 3 toilets and 2 bathrooms. 1 in 40 isn't achievable because the chamber isn't 1825mm deep.

Minimum fall required for foul pipe?

What's the minimum fall for a foul pipe underground over a long distance like 70m? The 110mm pipe. I know 1 in 40 is ideal. Also, is there a minimum depth the inspection chamber bottom should be from when it exits the property under building regs?

    External door brick opening size?

Thanks, the 900 to 940 seems good for the internal doors and the 1022mm externals maybe. It's hard to know in the early stages if the door choice will have lager or narrow frames until i know which supplier so the larger of the two sizes seems best to go off. I wasn't sure what size 4 and a...

    External door brick opening size?

Thanks, so for the external entrance door i could be looking at 1000mm brick opening or the nearest to it that matches 4.5 bricks with 4 bricks being 900mm.

    External door brick opening size?

But with a 900mm opening the 820/800mm between the door stops wouldn't be achievable because the frame of a UPVC door eats into this by quite a lot. On my current house opening is 900 and with the door open to 90 degrees it leaves 750mm clearance.

    External door brick opening size?

I thought the same but then it only leaves around 750mm opening which isn't enough, they have to be around 840mm i think.
