lectrician, if you had seen the other post the op had put on here, the op has a veritas excel, so would need a veritas excel PCB to work with the current setup.
I agree, if the problem persists, first change the battery, if that fails buy new panel.
yes, it is possible, whether you wire in series or in parallel, the accenta g4 will accept up to 4 remote keypads.
I have done the same as you as I recently installed a g4 in my house with the LCD keypad downstairs and an LED keypad upstairs for night sets.
no,did I ever say to you I ran a massive company? no, I am not an alarm installer, just a DIYer. ok? I DON'T install alarms, I help out with people's problems on this site.
depends what type of panel you would want to fit, the one i have recommended is mainly installed by professionals but lots of others on this site have fitted it DIY.
no, reuse the old wires wherever possible and just fit new PIRS, external bell box, new control box, new keypad.
only call in...
NO do not fit the yale, have a look for the Accenta G4 online, this would be easy to fix in place of the old 8 mini if you wanted a complete replacement.
have a look for kits including PIRS, new external bellbox and other accessories.
I'm sure others will help as well as myself if you want to...
can't they just call the bell boxes or external sounders? it's got to be an acronym for everything these days! PAB, PIR, EWD, RKP, SAB, SCB, that kind of stuff.
you would be looking at something like this:

the premier is the texecom premier, the top of the range texecom panel,(Veritas being cheaper (in price) and easier for DIY)
EWD stands for external warning device, I.E. outside box.
panels don't come with batteries but you can probably order kits with everything we have mentioned online.
Odyssey 3E for the bell box,
I agree on the premier, Alarm, but it's not exactly DIY centred!
adding to the list of new components, if the PIRS are the originals, replace with Texecom PIRS, same with door contacts.
The best panel to install DIY would be the texecom veritas series, I would recommend the veritas 8,
8 compact or
R8,
take a look at texecom's website,
www.texe.com
if you are working with the old panel THERE WILL BE MAINS PRESENT.
