    right toilet pan connector?

Sorry to get back to topic - but the way it's been done is a hopeless bodge. The fins of the pan connector are not designed to fit inside a soil SOCKET but into plain 4" pipe. As said above, put a short length of soil pipe inside the socket then use a flexi so it lines up properly. Whoever...

Worcester or Vaillant 30kw system boiler

priorygasheating-that was a useful reply I must say. And fully relevant to the OP's question. Not.

If price is the main determining factor you could do worse than the Biasi Riva Advance A rated boiler (aka the Biasi Garda He plus at B n Q.)2 yr guarantee. With oap discount these can be had for less than £600 with flue.Stainless steel heat exchanger too. You could probably get the job done...

Makes me laugh how people can post on here with prices for a job when they are not even in the trade. It is not helpful in any way. Can you tell me where I can get a 30cdi with flue for this price, cos I'd love to know? Yeah, right! Dt10rf or Dt20rf are £130+ alone. But then you...

Well you won't be getting a magnaclean or a digital programmable roomstat for that price unlike your first quote. You will get a bare bones job. He'll be gone by 4pm.

i would have thought somewhere between £1700 and £1900 would be nearer the mark. Would not look at your neighbour's job as a yardstick- If anyone was to fit a 30cdi and magnaclean in you house for £1200 they would not only be working for nothing.they would actually make a loss.

    Yet another problem argh!

This is what the WB service manual for your boiler has to say about this fault code (E9) accompanied by the two inverted 'L' symbols: The display shows alternatively the CH flow temperature and . The gradient limitation is active. The primary temperature is rising too fast and the burner...

    boiler installation quote

Think you're the one making the assumptions. No-one has actually said this at all. Read the thread properly. So it should get a bashing! Shiny vans and polo shirts count for rock all in the real world as I'm sure you are well aware. You are trying to be nice and 'reasonable' with this...

    boiler installation quote

This thread just goes to prove what we know already. That there are lots of people out there who are focused purely on the price of the job. Cheaper to these people=better. They are reluctant to spend an extra few hundred punds on a decent boiler to heat their home and provide hot water...

Is price your only determining factor? Ideal boilers are in the main unreliable units. Your decision though.

    Leaky Toilet

The OP is complaining of a leak at the compression end. Would recommend you undo the compression connection and wrap a couple of turns of ptfe round the olive and retighten.Probably all it will need to stop the leak.

trouble changing the washer on a faulty toilet cistern valve

The problem with these foreign made float valves is when you do finally find the washer inside where do you find a replacement? If I was faced with this job I would just replace the whole valve with a Torbeck or Fluidmaster or Armitage Shanks unit. Less than a tenner. Far less messing about.

dirt and air in system (Meme21)

Your boiler has two sets of wiring terminals inside. First set (L,N and E) are the incoming mains power to the boiler. The other set of terminals (3 of them- LS,LR and NS) take power to your wiring centre(from the LS terminal) which basically feeds the programmer which controls your motorised...

    Help with bath waste

Sorry to correct you but you are mistaken there. 50mm seal on bath trap is required, not 75mm. http://www.mcalpineplumbing.com/faq.asp

Bath trap - shallow or deep? (Photo included)

Depth of seal required is only 50mm if discharging into soil stack. 38mm if it's to a hopper etc. See here: http://www.mcalpineplumbing.com/faq.asp
