Fuse Box - Can i add to it ?

If your not concerned with safety, yes he could. In my experience they dont have the staff/knowledge to know the difference between a cable and a rice pudding.

    Shower Room conversion (extractor fan)

If there is no access to the lighting circuit, then using a SFCU to supply a fan and light is permissable. Add a three pole isolator for the fan.

    newboy with some questions.

Why not speak to one of the competent persons schemes, they will be better placed to advise what they require to register you for self certification. You could take one of those 3day courses like most kitchen fitters

    Electric certificate

Not really Matt, in my experience LABC would not have sufficient knowledge to say if the readings presented to them were whithin those laid down by BS7671. Your spark would want to know that any work he does which relies on the safety of the existing installation is not compromised by shortcuts...

Supplementary Bonding (Electric shock from bath taps)

Equipotential and supplementary bonding is all about making sure all exposed metalwork is joined together electrically thus all is at the same potential, hence equipotential. The danger would come from an appliance fault causing the exposed metal to become live, then there is likely to be a...

Fuse Box - Can i add to it ?

And that constitutes adding an additional circuit, for which you need an Electrical Installation Certificate.

    Electric certificate

The Electrician that carried out the work is the only one who would have a copy. The number given to you by the builder is likely to be the submission number for notification of LABC under Part P of the building regulations. I am not sure if that is much use to you. Did you not receive a...

    Triton Spellbind shower tripping RCD

CB, regarding drawing in a new cable, a few tips. Whenever possible, pull the cable up, not down, debris has a habit of dropping down and jamming the cable. Strip enough insulation off both cables to allow you to bend back at least an inch, preferably 2. Wrap tape around the join, making sure...

    Wiring for bathroom refit

I very much doubt that you are an imbicile, and I am sure in your own field you have to conform to the rule book. As for the size of cable you will need for this work, you will need to calculate it based upon the load, route, length of run. There is more to it that just picking from a chart. I...

    Wiring for bathroom refit

While I understand your desire to save money, there is a huge difference between houses and boats apart from the obvious. For example holes in joists weaken the structure. Expecting an electrician to sign off your work is illegal and would you risk your livelyhood on someone you didnt know?

    Lighting circuit not earthed

He's already got a neutral, he needs a cpc. I am surprised that the installer failed to include an earth, only houses without a cpc that I have seen were wired in the 60's. You may be lucky and could find the cables will pull the new ones in. remember to only pull cables up to prevent debris...
