Finding a competent and reliable tradesman... a rant...

You're making judgments on me when it's you that's poured his b*****ks out in public. As for paranoid, again it's you who's accused Vaillant of being out to 'scam you' as well as a trade of over 50,000 souls of being charlatans. Now that you've opened a car analogy here's one for you. You're...

Also someone should know how an Alpha CD50 works before recommending it.

They should indeed but if they don't attend calls to thermal stores then they don't need to know anything about them.

Which then makes a nonsense of your assumption that 'Joe plumber' should know all about them.

Finding a competent and reliable tradesman... a rant...

If someone claims to be able to fix your boiler then that's what they should do. But in your last post you mentioned it was 10 years old which is it's design life. This makes your computer analogy rather weak as I'd imagine anyone on your fictitious forum would be laughed at if their problem PC...

Advice on the fitting of unvented cylinders please?

It's about Water Systems or Doctor 'Two Combies' Drivel. He has posted many times but is frequently c****d off, sometimes for mis-interpreting the workings of the Alpha CD50.

That might have something to do with the fact that your average 'Joe plumber' would never get a sniff at that type of contract work during installation so is unlikely to see them until breakdown which according to Gledhill lovers is never.

You might well think so. Many on this and other forums consider him a complete to**er but that shouldn't bother you should it?

Gas supply for Vaillant 937 / Copper or Plastic

Familiar looking comment. BigBurner, would you, by any chance, be connected with Doctor Drivel, Water Systems, Balenza (TBC) or Richard Hanson-Granville?

    Heatline VIZO

How you do business is up to you. However what you can't change is how water behaves. Mains water will not lift sludge, it passes through or over any orafice left open to it. Try it yourself with a clogged section. I've had 3 bar put through a 3/4 furred pipe and the water runs clean through...

Advice for replacing a Keston in 2 bed flat

I've only installed the one Agile, but remember that the MI's said 'preferably on a sealed system'. As they have an integral shunt pump it's difficult to see why anyone would bother trying it on open evnt.

Advice for replacing a Keston in 2 bed flat

Your problems are not necessarily down to any fault with the boiler. I can sympathise with you but can't understand why it never seems to dawn on many OP's that the competency of their installer is of more significance than their choice of boiler brand.

Try a simple solid fuel system with maybe a solar open vented cylinder for free HW on sunny days.

    Long flues

Qualifying for the exemption is one thing, finding a SE boiler is another. Do whatever you can to keep the flue run as short as possible.
