    draining central heating

It depends where you are going to cut into them and your pipework layout but you will have to drain down any pipework which is higher than the section you are going to work on.usually best to drain whole system.

    draining central heating

If you want to drain the central heating system yes you will have to open the bleed vents. What pipework are you altering exactly?

Temporarily remove combi boiler to decorate - difficult?

So you want to be without heating and hot water for several days and in this weather and pay for the privilege just so the wall looks 'nice' behind your boiler? Think you should have a rethink.

    Breakdown cover.

Worcester guy was no gent. You deserved a better standard of service than that.He should have been of more practical help to you than he was regardless of whether your boiler was at risk. Obviously the call centre think the same or they wouldn't have offered to refund part of the fee. In my view...

    New Toilet Block easy

Are you saying the water level rises up in the pan when you flush? If so,it's nothing to do with the pan connector. You have a blockage.

Toilet slow to fill up cistern after flushing.

Sniperone -I didn't know B n Q sold these spares. Is there any brand on the packaging as I believe that is a Siamp float valve?

    Bath/shower mixer in council property.

No chance of the council doing this for you-the purpose of the cold pipe is to supply water to the bath, which it does perfectly well-it's compatibility with the shower mixer is not really their problem or concern. It would make little difference anyway if it was 15mm. Why don't you fit a...

Help an idiot plumb his toilet.

You know you love 'em. Especially those 'special' ones you come across that are all twisted up to fek by some bodger. I would say given the OP's lack of experience though he has a greater chance of getting his toilet working again using a flexi.

shower pump for instant water heater

Degsy old son- you can't pump the mains pressure supply as has been said already. What you think you're going to achieve by doing so I haven't a clue. You won't get an improved showering experience at any rate. If you don't like the advice I'm afraid that's hard luck. I would try...

Help an idiot plumb his toilet.

Think you're confusing him here. If he buys the flexi why would he then need anything else?

    Plumbing Job

Another good one is firing up the system after a boiler install and finding downstairs rads don't heat up which no amount of balancing rads will help. Cause was actually dumbell valve hidden in some boxing in. Came across this twice recently.Keeps you thinking.

    where to purchase from????????

Three out of four Optimax we installed have broken down. Would not fit again. Would say Biasi Riva or even Heatline are better than this if cheap is what you are after.

    Replacing a tap insert

If you are letting out property it would be wise to get a decent local guy on board for regular work and who is not going to charge this much. If you were a repeat customer I doubt you would have been charged much more than £40.

One for the more experienced boys!

It's pretty obvious you are out of your depth- you are blathering on about 1/2 inch this and 3/4 inch that when you haven't got a clue what you're talking about! That is a 15mm or, yes, in old money, a half inch pipe entering that valve(makes no difference) and the union between the valve and...

    Bathroom plumbing

Remember also that the hot and cold supplies TO the pump get there by gravity only so avoid 90deg bends and give the water the easiest downhill route-this is why a lot of pump manufacturers say position the pump at the base of the cylinder-so you get a short vertical route for the supplies.

cost of having a combi boiler fitted.

Except you are only likely to get one bath out of your cylinder(if that) before the contents need reheating completely. Your combi will carry on heating the water indefinitely.Though I would go for a 28 or 30 kw myself.

    combi boiler

read your post again and your subsequent reply- it makes no sense. How do you expect people to take you seriously?

    combi boiler

Yes. I think he means he has found a local supplier of braincells and he is going to ask if he can have some more so he can then download the relevant pdf from the Worcester site!

    Bathroom plumbing

It doesn't help that you've provided the hot supply to the pump by just tee'ing into the supply to the washbasin(I presume it IS a washbasin and NOT a sink-sinks are found in kitchens, not bathrroms). You should have taken a dedicated supply for the hot from the hot water cylinder. Is that...
