    Ferroli or Vaillant?

minimum rate on an 837 is 12kw though  possibly what a house of that size combined heat loss would equate too

    Ferroli or Vaillant?

Have you considered a system boiler and unvented cylinder combo? Should provide all the hot water you need, plenty for 2 good showers at one time, and maybe a 618 vaillant boiler? Would need someone to check siting requirements of cylinder and mains pressure/flow rate. Failing that, the...

    Ferroli or Vaillant?

Its 28kw to heating, but even so that a massive amount. Overpowered means less efficient to a degree, also as stated earlier you need to consider the gas supply, possibly the incoming water main pressure/flow rate to maximise the water performance provided by the boiler. Gas supply needs to be...

    Ferroli or Vaillant?

Ferroli have been around for years and always been pants. Vaillant are good boilers, worth the extra. How big is the house its going into, 37kw is massive! You'll need a 28mm supply for at least part of the way if the boiler is more than a few metres away from the meter, also what other...

    Warmfront big chill

The boilers a heap as you have found out, suprised it lasted as long as it has. Wouldn't go ripping the whole system out for it though, could be a lot of un necessary cost involved. Get someone out to give you some sound advise about existing system. I always recommend vaillant but there are...

Vaillant ecotech 831 - Not up to the job?

Standard to combi swap though so some pipepwork would have had to been altered. Is the boiler in the same place as the existing? Can you take a photo of what work was carried out in the old cylinder/airing cupboard? Really would have expected the installer to have sorted this by now...

Vaillant ecotech 831 - Not up to the job?

    VAILLANT COMBI BOILER

The leek in the radiator won't help, is there a potato in the other side?

    Short combi boiler

unfortunately the ideal isar is the only boiler I know of with minimal clearances, but then you would be better off installing it in his bin, would save you a job for later. Sam

Vaillant ecotech 831 - Not up to the job?

You need to open 1 radiator at a time so the full force of the pump is trying to circulate that one radiator. Turn all but 1 off to see if it works and pipework is OK. If it does, move onto the next and turn the first one off. Once you verify all radiators work on there own, you can try...

How hot is it to the touch?

Single Vs Double Vs Triple Radiator

Sounds like the radiator is undersized as you say, have you changed the lay out of the house , removed any walls etc? Do a heat loss calculation on the living room, won't take long but will accurately measure what size is needed for that space. Any way you could add another to a differant...

    Which TRV's

Fitted literally thousands of Honeywell VT15's, to my knowledge never had 1 go bad. Replaced lots of faulty trv4's in the process although they've been round for decades so hardly suprising :D Sam

Radiators are not getting as hot

Did BG check the gas supply to boiler. Would involve putting a test guage on the meter and/or boiler or taking a reading from the meter over a few minutes? Could you get the model name/number off the boiler? HTH Sam

Vaillant ecotech 831 - Not up to the job?

Get the installer/powerflusher back. It's not working and was prior to there work. I'd be stripping down the manifolds and checking there not blocked up. Sam

Vaillant ecotech 831 - Not up to the job?

2nd page 2nd post down  Sounds like thats the problem, wonder if the powerflush has blocked the manifold.

Vaillant ecotech 831 - Not up to the job?

No one has picked on anyone here. The fact is a problem has been diagnosed which isn't even apparent. Even IF the boiler did need range rating which i'm convinced it isn't, the symptons the OP has described don't even relate to the range rating problem. When the boiler come's up on temp...

Vaillant ecotech 831 - Not up to the job?

Yep, close book on range rating, what you've said prove's it had F all to do with it as it isn't cycling. Microbore is small diameter pipe 8 or 10mm usually.
