Kitchen fitters who change the CU and put in a split board

seen this sort of thing a few times, might be worth pointing out to customers what the pitfalls are, and make sure they realise it's not on, as for the Part P arguments, I've got nothing against folks doin their own work, but what bugs me is when they pay good money for something to be done...

    For all Sparks..

the loop test doesn't tell you if the earthing of the outlet is being provided by the CPC or parallel paths, so I'd rather do it anyway

    cold calling

had a row with a double glazing firm some years back about this, when I moved out, I got my parents to go ex-directory to help stop scams etc, whilst visiting the phone rang, when I stopped the guy mid speech to ask how he got the number he said their computer dialed numbers at random till...

    Earthing inside a box

there are a lot of people who have a degree of knowledge, who, with a little advice, can safely complete electrical work, those people tend to get that advice from people on this site who willingly spare a little time to answer questions in a bid to help. please don't be offended by the...

    Sub Board Conundrum

one isolator, henley blocks then tails to each board would be my preferred option, if something is tripped in the garage there's no effect on house wiring, and no need to go into the house to re-set a breaker/RCD

Am I going to be sued ?

bit dodgy doing that but a good thing, I know a builders merchant who, if a customer bounces a cheque, he photocopies and enlarges it, then pins it on the wall above the counter, supposedly to warn his staff not to accept any more cheques from them, but of course it also warns everyone else

I've been using a gun for about 4 years, cost bout £20, never cleaned it out, whenever you finish using it, tighten up the control at the back to stop the trigger accidentally being pressed (especially by stuff moving around in the back of the van), also makes sure no foam is left in the nozzle...

Multizone with Rads, Underfloor & DHW - which controller

I'd put individual programable thermostats on each zone so you can set times/temperatures for each zone, UF heating manifolds can be bought with actuator valves for each zone, you may find the UF heating works more efficiently by being on longer as, when it comes on from cold it takes longer to...

    A Quick Woodburner/Central Htg Question

can't do any harm, but when you're woodburner isn't lit, it will alsotake heat out of the system so you really would have to think about a 2 or 3 port valve (depending on the pipework layout) operated by a pipestat near the log burner to stop it circulating through the tank circuit when the fire...
