    cuprinol is ok for what it is made for , but it is not a cut end treatment . Press ure treating is a "envelope" treatment , if you dont use the right product on any cut ends then the envelope doesnt work - so you may as well not bother getting it treated in the first place it will probably...

    use the proper end cut preservative , waste of money getting timber pressure treated and then sticking any old crap on the end

    try a impact screwdriver with a trend snappy stubby auger in it - very short so no probs with clearance - plus it flies through

    just get your local tool shop (proper shop that is - not a shed )to order a 28mm flat bit for you , bosch and bahco (to name but 2)make them failing that , if you want an exact hole get a expansive bit and fer gawds sake dont try to "wiggle" a hinge sinking bit

    Try C&W berry in leyland (www.cwberry.com) they do veneered mdf and i notice that they also do 4mm veneered ply which if the job isnt structural would be a lot lighter and cheaper

    trend make a jig which you should be able to pick up cheaper than the one in the link above i would suggest you check the manufacturers first though as many do not reccommend cutting grooves inwooden worktops and it may invalidate any warrenty

    if you want one to stand up to abuse - it has to be bostitch . Downside is you have to drag a compressor around , plus side is the nails are a fraction of the price of paslode which is a comparativly delicate machine
