No heating or hot water with radiators removed.

There is plenty of water in both tanks in the loft, or there was yesterday. I'm going back up in a minute to double check. Heating was working fine before and I'm pretty sure that we have shut down individual rads before and the others have worked.

No heating or hot water with radiators removed.

No water pressure when bleeding the top radiator. Just the noise of air at first. Of course I cannot tell whether it's air in or air out :-(. It petered away to nothing and now there is just silence when I open the bleed valve. I'll go into the loft after answering MrStat's question.

No heating or hot water with radiators removed.

It's just the rads that have been removed. How do I tell the difference between wheelhead and lockshield valves? Neither have any caps on them (I was turning them with an adjustable spanner). I've had the immersion heater running to supply hot water, so rather than waiting a day or so for it...

No heating or hot water with radiators removed.

Will go up into the loft shortly if still necessary after seeing these.

No heating or hot water with radiators removed.

The upstairs radiators come on when the hot water is on unless you individually shut them down. Just about to post photos of the pipework etc.

No heating or hot water with radiators removed.

Hi All, I've seen similar problems answered on here, but not quite the same thing. Hopefully someone knows the solution! I've removed 2 radiators to decorate the lounge and now have no heating or hot water. Both radiators had lockshields at either end, so I locked them down and removed the...

uPVC roof fell in in rainy hot weather. Insurance won't pay out.

That's great thank you. Those things surely cannot have been in place originally or there's no way that the glass could have fallen in?

It's hard to see behind the plastic 'wedges' unfortunately.

uPVC roof fell in in rainy hot weather. Insurance won't pay out.

Many many thanks again. The previous owners (who had the extension built) declined to pay the extra for the insurance backed warranty. We're in Leicestershire. It's easy enough for me to pop out a bedroom window onto the roof. Do I have to remove anything (plastic end caps?) to verify the...

uPVC roof fell in in rainy hot weather. Insurance won't pay out.

Ah that's a great answer thank you. We were told by the engineers we've had out that the glass would need to be custom made. Would Synseal be able to recommend a repairer? Also with regards to my original question, do you think the insurance should cover the cost? Thanks again!

uPVC roof fell in in rainy hot weather. Insurance won't pay out.

Hi, It's less than 2 years old. Unfortunately the window company that fitted it had 'gone bust' and the previous owners for whatever reason had declined to pay the extra few quid for a warranty that covered that situation. I don't know the brand sorry, and it's not yet fixed. Quotes have been...

uPVC roof fell in in rainy hot weather. Insurance won't pay out.

It's hard to know exactly what to call it. The pretentious people we bought the house from called it their 'orangery' but it's a 3-sided brick extension with a lot of window area and the roof is like a very shallow 'pyramid' with 4 glass panels and a plastic frame.

uPVC roof fell in in rainy hot weather. Insurance won't pay out.

I wonder if anyone can give an opinion on this?: Last summer we had a really hot spell then some rain and one of the glass roof panels in our dining room fell in. We called a guy out to fix it and he said he'd been aware a bunch of similar issues recently and explained that the heat was causing...

    Odd pumped shower problem.

Yep, certainly worth a go. I'll report back once I've done it.

    Odd pumped shower problem.

I'm not sure if either of them is thermostatic I'm afraid. Is there any easy way to tell? Do you think the chrome one is fitted upside down? That's the faulty one. I replaced an identical one and fitted it the same way.

    Odd pumped shower problem.

I'll to double check to confirm that it is as I described it. However, whatever the setup is, one of the showers works perfectly well with it.
