Main 24 Combi boiler - heating cutting out

Pretty poor boiler at best. I wouldn't waste any money on it. Swap it out for something better. If the radiators where only luck warm but the pump was running it would suggest the boiler was still hot. If you have thermostatic valves open these all up to full and see if any difference.

Potterton Boiler losing pressure but then over pressurises!

Expansion vessel needs pumping up with a foot pump. Common problem. It will be dumping the water outside. If it is a new build these boilers sometimes come with 5 or 7 year warranty so get manufacturer out.

vokera linea 24 automatic air release valve leaking water

Yes external expansion vessel is fine put it on the return. A lot cheaper than the internal expansion vessels. Have you pumped up the existing expansion vessel? Release the pressure in the system and pump the old expansion vessel up to about 1bar with a foot pump. Refill system. Most of the time...

Stick with 10mm, or can I use 15mm?

Go to 15mm. Since the 15mm will be connected to the existing 10mm won't make any difference. At worst a little balance of the system afterwards.

    Unvented Cylinder advice please?

The difference in pressure between loft and 1st floor would be maybe 0.25 bar. I don't think there would be a noticeable difference in pressure actually at the outlets

No heating or hot water :(

Problems like this usually point to the pump. This can trip the electric.

    Pumped HW

Because pressure does not matter flow rate does! The flow rate is poor because of the low pressure hot water header tank. Probably blocked feed or just not enough head of water. Good grief.

    Pumped HW

I am a real plumber! Your mains pressure is fine if a little low. Your hot water press is poor because of the configuration. True you can improve this with a pump but expensive and noisy. Better to chuck the lot out and do it with something modern. A combi will give you unlimited hot water at...

    Pumped HW

    1. Fit a combi boiler. or 2. Fit an unvented hot water cylinder to give mains pressure hot water in the house. I would try the immersion heater to heat the hot water tank. Sounds like for some reason the cylinder isn't getting fully heated. Don't mess about with pumps.

    Driveway stone

Hi Group, I have a long driveway about 70 yards (old farm house). Mostly road planings. This is a bit rough old and tatty. I want to improve this but haven't really much idea about what is best here. I dont want it to cost too much so ok to get a lorry load of stone and apply this down the...

    Low Hot water flow

Fit a pump to increase pressure for the hot water or replace hot water tank with a unvented cylinder for mains pressure hot water.

    3 port valves

2 x 2 port valves is the way to go.

Humming noise in hot water system since new cylinder fitted?

Sounds like you have air trapped in the coil of the cylinder perhaps. Ease the nut holding the hot water flow heating the tank up and waggle the pipe to see if any air comes out. Don't open the nut off completely just enough to loosen the connection to allow it to leak air and water.

Problems with WB Greenstar 24i Junior Gas Boiler

Blockage of some sort preventing the hot water travelling through the boiler. Hopefully straightforward to fix. Pressure rising is just expansion vessel in the boiler needs to be pumped up easy fix.

Problems with WB Greenstar 24i Junior Gas Boiler

1.What could be wrong with the boiler? Have I really ruined it by not using the central heating for a year or so? Block filter/pipe restricting flow by the sound of it 2.Is it likely that the return of normal hot water pressure will only be temporary? No probably clear now. 3.The high...

combi boiler pressure dropped to 0

It possible that you have a defective expansion vessel and the boiler dumped the water from the pressure relief pipe outside. When you say it isn't coming on are there any lights on? I believe the pressure sensor on these can get gunged up. So push the pressure up to 2 bar and leave it...

gas bill query re pilot light

If the readings are correct you have a gas leak. Probably at the boiler going straight up the chimney. If you don't use any gas switch it off at the meter.

    Worcester Heatslave 20-25/ Lockout

If the pump has seized riello pumps usually fail quickly if run out of oil But you can usually hear the pump if it is struggling for fuel. I would disconnect the oil line from the burner and allow a few gallons to run through the line into a can that should show if there is a problem with...

    Worcester Heatslave 20-25/ Lockout

Steel or plastic tank? I suspect something blocking the oil line from the tank to house. Push some compressed air down it. If after 4-5 hours and it locks out I you bleed the oil line does the boiler fire?
