Deciding on a non-mains gas central heating system

lpg install is dirt cheap. 2 bottles 47kg bottles and a boiler coming in about 1200-1400 pounds installed for the boiler only. Job done. A little more expensive to run than a bulk tank.

    Domestic boiler or Commercial boiler??

20 radiators will need about 30 kW. Any little combi boiler will do it. You will need two central heating pumps to do the radiators as 20 is too much for one.

Heating and DHW for large Barn.

Unvented ACV cylinder it can heat as you use it. If this is a true barn conversion it may be that you don't have the water supply to run 4 on suites at once though so an accumulator tank might be advisable if you have good pressure say 2.5 bar.

Combi with unvented using a couple of extra zone valves

The best answer to this is use an ACV cylinder. This is a tank in a tank and can take much higher heat input more than even some of the bigger boilers can supply. It will nearly always heat up faster than you can use it provided you boiler can keep up.

gas central heating light constantly on - huge bill!

Turn the temperature on the boiler up until the radiators are getting hot. Simply don't pay the rent until a timer and wall thermostat is installed in the house to control boiler and temperature of house. There might be thermostatic valves on the radiators turn these down to 3 so they shut...

Sounds like they replaced two pumps to achieve nothing.

combi closed? system but two tanks up in loft - why?

It would be unusual to have left the tanks connected. It is possible you have very poor water pressure and the big tank in the loft is supplying the hot water via the combi. Turn the combi off and then turn a hot tap on. See if the big tank in the loft starts filling. Is there a filling loop...

Myself plus 3 neighbours all have banging pipes.Mains issue?

Fit an expansion vessel to the cold main pipe in the house. Sorted. Ensure you have a stop valve in the house that has a non return valve in or if not have a none return valve fitted after the stop valve.

    Ecotec plus 415 boiler problem

Try running a separate mains connection from a wall socket and plug to remove the posibility of a electrical supply problem. If that doesn't cure it check for any problems on the pcb perhaps a blown fuse. Other than that it could be a faulty pcb.
