    Which HW system is best

No you must be reading the wrong manual. It wll give flow rates equivalent to an unvented cylinder.

Glowworm ultrapower. Boiler and hot tank all in one. Never run out of hot water. All in the nice one box with a immersion backup. Sorted.

What is this on my Range Tribune HE?

The expansion vessel for the hot water tank needs recharging with air.

    Potterton 50e flame cut-out

Gas valve solenoid I would say if the fan is going sufficiently to keep the air pressure switch in place.

Yes pump on gravity side would do it. But not the normal way.

New cylinder but no gravity fed hot water

It won't work. Or waste an awful log of gas trying to do it. Fully pumped that cylinder will heat up in about 30 minutes.

New cylinder but no gravity fed hot water

You have fitted a modern cylinder. It won't do gravity hot water. You'll need to go fully pumped.

Problems with boiler overrun and boiler overheating

Faults like this are nearly always the diverter or 2 port valves. Wasting your time replacing timer very unlikely to be fault. You can usually see if the timer is still on and easy enough to test.

    Ongoing Central Heating Problems!

It a sad fact that this was an easy problem to fix. Even if an engineer decided to replace hot water tank stat, 3 port valve and wall thermostat it would have been quicker than this fiasco and most likely cheaper. That's assuming they could actually wire it up. The problem was most likely the...

    Five ensuites

Lack of flow from the header tank in the loft or some restriction in the piping somewhere. The pumps will provide plenty of power in each room provided they have the supply of water. Check all valves from the loft tank are fully open. Also check there are no blockages in the tank in the loft...

How to Gas Rate With No Meter Reading

These modern smart meters I'd say it's impossible to gas rate as the display doesn't respond fast enough. Unless you can see the rate in the fancy display in the house.

    LPG / oil dilemma

Wouldn't have an oil boiler inside my house. Best outside.

    LPG / oil dilemma

If your house is fairly small a lpg combi boiler/system boiler with 2 47kg propane bottles will happily do it. Usually about from £1300 depending on boiler excluding bottles. Bigger house will use bottles faster and you can then consider lpg bulk tank. Also consider air con units. A couple...

Valliant system boiler pressure too low each morning

Tell them to get lost. Probably needs a 50p tyre valve. Alternatively an additional expansion vessel about £50.

Does flue comply with regs ? (I have changed thread title)

Ignore the british gas guy. The £4000 quote is silly money. Get a local gas guy in to look at the flue and boiler. It may be the flue can be replaced with a standard flue pipe which don't be particularly cheap so it might be more economic to go for a new boiler which will come with a long...

    PVR Dishcharge pipe on Combi

Typical sort of nonsense you get with these policies. A discharge pipe most likely has absolutely nothing to do with any fault you might have.

is electric underfloor & woodburber back boiler enough h

Stick with oil and make if more difficult for them to steal. Add a wood back boiler if you like. But you will be kept very busy trying to keep the house warm with wood. It will take sacks and sacks all the time to heat a house. Plus the back boiler won't have enough kW to do it.

Boiler/Megaflo pipework vibration - sounds like a helicopter

No circulation going on. Make sure the bypass radiator valves are fully open. Or possibly one of the 2 port valves maybe the hot water tank isn't opening.
