    seems a little extreme until you miss that fault you put on when you crushed a cable or pinched one in a backbox and now the installation is either in a dangerous state or has the rcd tripping everytime you try to turn the power on.

    Unused cores should be earthed or otherwise made safe, never snipped off or left floating due to the fact they may pick up voltage off the other cables in the same sheath.

    If you dont the fittings will crackle and pop everytime you use the shower/the bath due to steam getting into the contacts and with a metal fitting potentially making the case live. Will also cause the lamps to flicker and die costing you a small fortune in lamps.

    Sounds correct to me. Would make Cooker, Shower, Immersion Circuits etc fail to comply also as these are usually a standard radial.
