No Hot Water after draining down system

Sorry to repeat post on this but I'm pretty desperate! If the pipe from the boiler to the cylinder is very hot but the return back to the boiler is ice cold and the cylinder isn't heating up then from what I've been told so far its an airlock in the cylinder coil? There are no vents in the...

No Hot Water after draining down system

Thanks for the reply. F&E is at its normal level. I tried increaseing boiler temperature for 20 mins or so it just meant the entry pipe to the cylinder got even hotter. The cylinder exit is still cold. The only other thing I can add is that the bathroom radiator was off for the last 9 months...

No Hot Water after draining down system

Hi I recently drained down my central heating system to replace a faulty radiator valve but when I filled it up I've been left with no hot water! The hot water inlet to the cylinder is "piping hot" and the return is cold. I can't feel any movement inside those pipes by holding them and was...

    flooring question

I'd also be really grateful if someone could post a reply to this question. If the existing 18mm chipboard was screwed to the joists every 6inches or so and there were no "creaks" when walking on it plus its barely 2Msquared what would happen if tiled directly on it? Would it be ok for say 3 or...

Extension - quotes required in the surrey area

Did you get any quotes? I'm just about to ask three builders for a single storey 20sqm extension excluding plumbing/electrics/plastering. I'd probably need one window and probably flat room. Also in Surrey, I wonder whether I'm looking at sub 10k 10k-20k or 20k-30k ? ___________________________...

    Help! Moving WC stack branc

Didn't leak but was a bit old and doesn't fit into the wife's new plans....! Perhaps I should have said the branch comes through the floor and is about 20-30cm too far forward. I'm just confused about 110mm plastic fittings. I mean I know that 15,22mm copper pipes you can choose between...

    Help! Moving WC stack branc

I\\\'m replacing a losely coupled wc with a closely coupled one and need to move the outlet pipe back a few cm. I think its physically possible to do it since I can see where the stack is etc. I looks like I\\\'ll need to replace the existing connection at the stack with a new one (rotating...
