    Where to buy an ATAG?

Didn't know I could go direct, I'll give them a ring today. I'd been on the Plumb Center website and only saw the Q series, but I'll give them a ring and see what they can do. Thanks!

    Where to buy an ATAG?

Our plumber has been unable to get a price for an ATAG A325EC from his suppliers (Graham-Group), but has said if we can find one he'll fit it. I've found them for sale at MyTub and PlumbPlanet, but do people know of any other places? Once I've got the price I just need to decide if I want...

what cylinder lock is best for upvc door ?

Don't know if your all sorted but we put ABS Avocet locks in our house when we moved and they seem very good, thumb turn lock on the front door is very handy, but read your insurance docs to make sure they're allowed. Our insurance never made any demands on the specs of the actual locks, but...

    Cleaning brick prior to DnD

Thanks for the replies. We're installing a wood stove so around the fire we'll use concrete render to be safe. The wall in question is shared with the neighbour so it's an internal wall, what is the issue of removing plaster from external walls before I go and strip the house!?

    Cleaning brick prior to DnD

Sorry for the poor photo, I can put a better one up this evening if needed. I've removed all the plaster/render from my living room walls with the intention to PVA and Dot & dab them. Question is how clean do the walls need to be prior to this? Do I need to scrub them down with a wet...

Combi boiler size (ATAG or Vaillant)

:( Eek, Lee would you consider that a freak one off that and still recommend an ATAG, or has that experience put you off, you mention sticking with Vaillant above?

Combi boiler size (ATAG or Vaillant)

Thanks for all the replies. Next task is to find a plumber in the Chesterfield area who will fit them. My plumber is a Worchester-Bosch man and has never fitted one before, ATAG say there aren't any warranty issues in getting him to do it. How happy would you be being asked to fit a boiler...

Combi boiler size (ATAG or Vaillant)

Hi guys, I'm trying to decide on what combi boiler to get and I have a couple of questions, wondered if you'd all be good enough to help! 1. What size boiler do I need? EnergySavingTrust and Sedbuk says I need a 10kw boiler for my semi-detached house, however for combi boilers should I...

What shower for combi (thermostatic vs pressure regulating)

Emailed Mira asking what the difference would be in the real world, got back a standard reply about how pressure/thermostatic showers work and allow for a comfortable showering experience +/- 1*c. :( The Combiforce/Combiflow cost £250-£300, which is the same as the Excel thermostatic. I'm...

What shower for combi (thermostatic vs pressure regulating)

Thanks for the reply, the recommendation came from a plumber who said the Mira Combiflow/force showers are "better" than thermostatic ones when you've a fully modulating combi. I didn't know if a thermostatic shower + combi caused some sort of issues which a pressure regulating one overcame...

What shower for combi (thermostatic vs pressure regulating)

Thinking of getting a Vaillant Ecotec plus 837 installed. I've been told a pressure regulating shower is the best to have (Mira Combiforce/Combiflow). I'm unsure why these would be better than a thermostatic. What difference would I see "in the real world"?

    Detector

Not a recommendation as such, but I'm looking for a detector as well and the only one on the Screwfix website that gets any decent reviews is a Bosch one for £70. All the cheaper £20-£30 ones get very unfavourable reviews. Just seen there is a new £50 Bosch one, which might be good.

I'll get onto some UFH companies then and see what they can design/spec out for me. Thanks for the replies

    UFH & Conventional radiators

Hmm, that's disappointing. I guess I could install electric UFH instead, although I always thought the running costs were quite high.
