Hi Tony, I meant that I have disconnected and removed the actuator / motor head.. The valve is still in place.. And yeah, the fuse still blows when calling for CH

Small update.. From testing continuity in the terminal box mounted in the airing cupboard, it would appear that the feed for CH-ON is shorting to earth somewhere..

I wouldn't be surprised if there has been a very small amount of water enter the inside of the motor valve. The screws at the bottom both have a small amount of white surface corrosion. As does the bottom of the manual arm.. The only thing that I'm finding confusing, if the actuator / valve...

have checked all the cables for continuity between spur, programmer and boiler. All seem fine, and I can't see any signs of a short. However, I imagine (hope) this maybe where the fault lies..

not now.. that is how it was before I replaced the actuator yesterday.. now the spur trips as soon as you switch it on. that is still the same with the programmer switched off (ie, not calling for HW or Heat). I changed the actuator back to the old one, and it is now setup exactly how...

I know, I feel like I am going round in circles with it.. Just hope that there is a short somewhere that the electrician finds easily! There can't be much left to replace really.. just the pump and stats..

Yeah, he is coming this afternoon.. Just want to get it sorted ! Only blown about 3 or 4 fuses.. Just tested the programmer and that is sending the lives out on HW and Heat when switched on.. Think I am going to have to leave it now.. Did the wiring in the junction box look right ?

Ignore me, I am a complete idiot.. I was testing the live from the wall plate, which is actually the input from the spur.. It then goes to the boiler before going to the junction box. The Live supply to the junction box is fine. But now I am stumped again as everything appears to be wired...

on the HSA3 it would be the grey for the switch.. not sure what that would prove though ? could you explain a bit ? did you see my post above about the live feed ?

Hi, No checked that and the programmer works fine wired upto a plug..
